Hope you are all doing well, and looking pretty, eating healthy and smelling nice 😛 I have a body mist review for you today, in case you are not doing well on the smelling nice part hehe 😀 Read on to find more!
The last week or so, it was raining The Body Shop reviews on IMBB. It’s actually difficult to find a ‘The Body Shop’ product to review because almost everything has already been reviewed lol. I was actually quite surprised, when, standing at The Body Shop store I tried to find a review of The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Mist on my phone, but couldn’t find any! I bought it nonetheless, because I fell in love with the smell of this body mist and also found the packaging very cute.
Our Pink Grapefruit takes on a fresh new form. Spray this light scented body mist all over your body for a gentle burst of zingy grapefruit. It’s irresistible.
• Zingy grapefruit fragrance
• Light and fresh
• Use all over body
• Contains pink grapefruit extract
How to Use:
Spritz it on after bathing or showering. Top up throughout the day.
Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus Grandis Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant).
My Experience with The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Mist:
I have a preference for light, fresh smells which usually fall into ‘aquatic’ or ‘citrus; or sometimes in ‘dry woods’ category. I have a sensitive nose and heavy smells like those under floral and oriental categories usually end up giving me a headache. Because of this, I hardly buy perfumes or scented creams, and when I do buy, I am very choosy about what I pick up. So, when I tested this mist out in The Body Shop store, I was instantly hooked on by its tangy, real-grapefruit-like, invigorating smell and promptly added this to my basket.
I have been using this mist every day for the past week. Though, I love the smell, the product is a big fail on the longevity front and the smell vanishes within an hour of spraying on to the skin. I experimented by spraying on my clothes and discovered that while the smell stays when sprayed on the insides of my clothes, it doesn’t stay for a long time when sprayed on the outside.
I am usually wearing it nowadays by spraying on the inside of my shrug or on my innerwear: P (I sometimes go to the office wash-room to give myself a good smell-I love the scent so much 😀 ).
I guess, The Body Shop knows about the fact that the smell doesn’t stay long enough and so the ‘instructions to use’ say ‘top up throughout the day’. This would be an acceptable advice had the product not been in a glass bottle. I am clumsy and I don’t trust myself to carry around a glass bottle without breaking it.
Like all other body mists from The Body Shop, this one has a spray packaging which sprays out a clear liquid in moderate amounts. 2-3 sprays are required for the product to become noticeable to my own nose. The liquid is cool on the skin and doesn’t irritate or sting.
Pros of The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Mist:
• Amazing fresh smell.
• Pretty packaging with frosted label.
• Doesn’t irritate skin like some alcohol-based perfumes/mists.
Cons of The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Mist:
• If sprayed on skin, the smell vanishes within an hour.
• Glass packaging makes it difficult for carrying around.
3.5/5 (-1 for non-existent staying power, -0.5 for glass bottle).
I am not sure if I will repurchase it- if I do, I will probably get the body lotion or other products from this line to layer up the scent.
