The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil Review

A warm hello to all the readers,

Navaratri and Durga Puja are just round the corner and everyone must be busy with the preparations and in shopping for the upcoming festival. I was also busy with the shopping and how a fortnight of October has passed, I simply have no idea 😛

The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil Review

Today, I am going to review the new “Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil” from The Body Shop. This product has been significantly launched for India keeping in mind the Indian women who pay lots of attention to their hair. In today’s changing environment, our hair undergoes significant changes in form, shape, and size and in the process succumbs to various chemicals and heat treatments in the process. Thus, the need to maintain them healthy and shining arises and nothing can beat the age-old tradition of scalp oil massage. Not only does it help in strengthening the roots of hair, it also stimulates circulation of blood, relaxes and soothes ones’ mind from any form of tension.

Product Description:

This luxuriously silky oil melts effortlessly into your hair creating the perfect overnight, leave-in, pre-wash treatment or the optimal nourishing accompaniment to scalp massage.

  • Reveals hair that is strong, soft, shiny with a healthy scalp.
  • Light fragrance.
  • Certified with Eco-Conscious Standards.
  • Paraben Free, Solicone Free, Colourant Free.

My Experience with The Body Shop Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil:

I was really excited to know that TBS has come up with a coconut hair oil and was desperate to try the same, so got it the very same day it was launched, i.e., 26th September, 2012, and since then, I have been using it thrice every week as suggested. After 3 weeks of use, I feel now I can go about to review this product.

The oil is colorless as it states and gets absorbed very easily.  It has a sweet coconut fragrance that can be associated with all coconut products available at The Body Shop. The scent is not at all heady and lingers until the hair wash. It is not so greasy unlike some oils, so you may not worry about pillow patches in the morning. After application, while combing my tresses, I have very less tangles and there is also a decrease in the amount of hair fall with regular use.

TBS Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil 3

One morning, I was in a hurry, so left the conditioner out, yet I could feel my hair silky smooth and the comb simply slid through them as if they said “thank you!” I simply couldn’t help touching my hair again and again. My fingers automatically went to touch them and by now I can also see that my hair has a subtle shine to it.  Yesterday, even my husband asked, “Have you done something to your hair recently? You look a bit different!”

My hair is about a few inches below the normal shoulder length and I do not require more than about 5 ml of the product for the entire length, so just be careful about the amount you get out of the bottle or you might end up using or wasting more than required.

I have listed almost all the pros in my above statement and there is no con other than the price. I agree that the price is very high for a 200 ml bottle of oil, but I believe, its worth every penny. If you are someone who loves to have long or short, but healthy hair, then get this oil. It is my way of pampering my hair, what’s yours? So, what do you have to say gals?

  5. Hi,

I use only body shop products and am big fan of it. The coconut oil is also great since I have oily hair so I use it rare. Its just too good what I like about the product its not greasy nor your pillow covers spoils. Would als like to know which shampoo you use that made your silky smooth.
