The Body Shop Satsuma Bath and Bloome Kit Review

This post is an entry for 500 Posts celebration Giveaway

Satsuma Bath and Bloome Kit

My sis in New York used to send me surprise gifts often. As she knows I love Body Shop she makes it a point that my surprise gift has at least one Body Shop product. Last time it was the Strawberry Bath and Bloome Kit and this time it is the Satsuma Bath and Bloome Kit. Since Body Shop’s strawberry line is pretty popular among us I thought I’d review the Satsuma range first.

The Body Shop Sastuma Bath and Bloome Kit

Satsuma is nothing but a citrus fruit like orange so you can expect the same fragrance in this range of products.  Anyone who loves fresh and fruity fragrance will fall in love with this range. I love the fruity smell and it is so fresh that it awakens me in the morning during my bath. The bath and bloome kit has the following

  • Satsuma Shower Gel [250 ml]
  • Satsuma Body Polish [75 ml]
  • Satsuma Body Butter [50 ml]
  • Satsuma Bath Soap
  • Similar colored loofah.

I haven’t used the body butter and soap so I shall review the shower gel and body polish now and the rest later.

1.Body Polish

The Body Shop Sastuma Bath and Bloome Kit

The body polish comes in a tube, which is very easy to use and carry around. I love the scrub as the granules are very minute and my skin feels super soft and squeaky clean after I use this scrub.

What does the product claim?

Reveal softer, smoother skin with a gel-based, foaming scrub loaded with exfoliating crushed walnut shells and loofah particles.

Best for: normal skin, suitable for daily use

How it works:

  • Orange essential oil is known to uplift, refresh and energize the senses and provides a naturally sweet citrus fragrance.
  • Satsuma juice is rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect and nourish skin, and provides a naturally zesty scent and orange color.
  • Community Trade organic honey moisturizes and conditions skin.
U.S residents you get this offer – Buy 2 Get 1 Free 🙂 Check out their website.

What I like about the product?

  • The smell is sooooo good and refreshing. I am so lazy in the morning that until I have my shower I’ll be moving around like a snail, even while bathing but as soon as I smell this one it just awakens me and I pick up speed ;
  • The scrub is so mild with the granules being very minute and my skin just loves it. Rarely I use little bit of it for my face as well and it didn’t cause any harm. It did help me get rid of the dirt.
  • The lid is so intact that it does not spill around even if you want to carry it with you. [But why would we carry a body polish with us?? Might be for a trip, then yes I would love to!!!!!]
  • It is gel based so easy to apply.

What I don’t like about it?

  • People who expect intense scrubbing might get disappointed. Though I am happy with this one, this is all I could think about the cons.

2.Shower Gel

The bottle that comes with the kit is actually big enough to last for more than a month. I actually had to take more than what I thought would be sufficient but still there is a lot left. Again this smells the same way leaving my skin silky smooth. This just glides on the skin and helps me have a quick bath on a rushing morning.

What does the product claim?

Let the sunshine in with this invigorating all-over body cleanser perfect for those Monday mornings.

Key Ingredients:

  • Satsuma peel essential oil provides natural fragrance.
  • Glycerin is an effective moisturizer, which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.

Even this has an offer – but only in U.S: (

What I like about the product?

  • Again the smell here. Fruity and Fresh.
  • The gel is so light on my skin and hence easy to apply.
  • It does not dry my skin like my soap that is one of the main reason I love this.
  • While used with the loofah /bath lily it lathers well and little amount is sufficient and this leaves a lot of product for more than a month.
  • Bright in color is an added advantage for me. I don’t know to how many of you this is an appealing factor.
  • I feel the price USD 32 [approximately INR 1500] is not too high for the number of products [4+1 loofah] provided in the kit.

What I don’t like?

  • The smell doesn’t last long. I can smell it for half an hour maximum and that is it. This did disappoint me a lot but I haven’t tried using it with the body butter as they claim while using the body butter after using the shower gel the smell lasts long.

3.The Bath Lily / Loofah

Colourful Loofah(2)I have to say about this brightly double colored loofah. It is so attractive in color and it matches the entire kit in orange. It is good on my skin and comfortable to use as well. I like the fact that it accompanies this cute kit.
