My Experience with The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet:

Let us start with the fragrance. This was the sole reason I picked this product. When I took a sniff at it at the store, there was a burst of fresh clementine fragrance and I couldn’t hold myself back. 😀 The body sorbet smells amazing. The scent is fresh and juicy and it reminds me of the orange-flavored ice candies we used to have in childhood. 😀 Satsuma is a yummy, true orange-y scent which doesn’t feel very strong or artificial at all. But yes, it is strong enough that people will notice it for sure if you enter the room after a fresh application. The fragrance stayed on me for a couple of hours and faded gradually, but I could still smell it a little if I took a closer sniff at my arm. My bathroom too smells awesome, I do not want to come out of it. 😛 Though the fragrance is not very strong, it would interfere for sure if you layer it with some other fragrance.

Now, the packaging – The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet comes in an inverted tube (of 200 ml). The tube is matte and is transparent, so you always know when you are running out of the product. It has a flip open cap which closes with a click, but I don’t feel that the cap is sturdy enough for traveling. So, we can transfer it into another smaller packing to be taken on travels. The tube packing is really convenient and hygienic as it means no dipping of our hands in the tub.

The texture of the sorbet is really interesting. It is semi-opaque, whipped, mousse like. On application, it spreads like a gel. Though it does take some time to get absorbed into the skin.

I have very dry skin but body butters and thick lotions are a bit heavy for scorching summers. The product is non sticky and non greasy. It is best applied on damp skin, when we come just out of shower. It does feel cool on skin when applied. TBS says you can pop it up in the fridge for more cooling. I would be trying that for sure when summers are here. 😉 The hydration is good enough for normal skin. Though, I do feel the need to apply some thicker lotion on dry areas like elbows, knees and my super dry feet.

Pros of The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet:

  • Smells like oranges.
  • Fragrance is not very strong.
  • Provides light hydration.
  • Has a light cooling effect.
  • Doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Gel/mousse-like texture.

Cons of The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet:

  • Not hydrating enough for dry skin.
  • Takes a while for getting absorbed into the skin.
  • Scent fades over time.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet?

I am loving it. I really want to eat it up (it smells sooooooo yummy 😛 ). I guess many people feel similar, that is the reason they have put an “unfit for consumption” sign at the back. 😛  Though I need additional hydration for my dry skin, I still loved it and would be repurchasing it for sure.
