The Body Shop Seaweed Iconic Clay Mask Review

The Body Shop Seaweed Iconic Clay Mask review

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask is something I bought from IMBB’ sale long ago. This item was put on sale by Priya and she sent me this within three days of confirming the payment. The actual price of this clay mask is around 1095, but I got it from Priya at Rs. 450, isn’t that a steal?, and she had used this mask for only about two times or so, and basically, I got this almost full. I was looking for a clay mask at that time for my oily skin and I did not think twice before getting it. Body Shop’s Seaweed range is exclusively meant for combination/oily skin and I believe the toner and moisturizer have already been reviewed here. Now, it’s the time for this clay mask to be reviewed.

Enriched with minerals to condition and revitalise the skin. Best if you want to detoxify and deep cleanse your skin with a weekly mask that uses natural ionic clay action to draw out impurities and control excess oil.

A LITTLE ABOUT BLADDERWACK SEAWEED:

A source of iodine; reported to help remove toxins. Derived from thallus of Fucus Vesiculosus. Bladderwrack is a seaweed. This extract is recommended for toning the skin and stimulating cell activity.

MY TAKE ON THE BODY SHOP SEAWEED IONIC CLAY MASK:

tbs sweaweed clay mask

This thick clay mask comes in a 100 mL plastic container which is very sturdy, I mean it gets thrown around so much, it has to be sturdy after all. The clay mask has a very strong smell, something like what a detergent would smell, but much more stronger and sweeter, hope you got it. The clay mask is very thick and grayish in colour. Again, because of the thick consistency, I had to dilute it with a little water to let it spread easily. Remarkably, the clay mask dries off almost as immediately as you apply it, so it is obvious that a thin layer won’t do. A thick layer is what will work. After washing off the mask, I could see that it has cleansed my face thoroughly. It didn’t leave the skin dry. I felt my skin was much refreshed and I use it whenever I feel my skin has become too oily. It does not soften or smooth the skin, just a refreshing kind of feeling and will work best for summer months when the skin tends to becomes oily and greasy. However, if you leave the mask in open air in the container, it very easily dries up sitting in the tub. My friend who has dry skin tried this mask and she felt her skin had become somewhat dry, so it won’t work for dry skin people. Overall, I found it worked fine for my oily skin and clay masks are so good at sucking oil from the skin.

PROS OF BODY SHOP SEAWEED IONIC CLAY MASK:

• Works best for oily skin sucking up oil and refreshing the skin.
• Does not dry out oily skin.
• There is a lot of product in the tub and it will last really long.
• I like the detergent kind of scent.

CONS OF BODY SHOP SEAWEED IONIC CLAY MASK:

• Will dry out dry skin.
• Does not smoothen or soften skin.
• Does not have any kind of brightening effect.
• Dries out quickly, within a few minutes.
• Costly at Rs. 1095 rupees.
• Strong detergent kind of smell, which may not suit others.

WILL I PURCHASE IT AGAIN: Yes and No….because I like the way it works on my skin during summers…it sucks out all excess oil, but the high price is a major put off.

IMBB STAR RATING: 3/5…..-1 for the high price and -1 for drying out quickly.

          1. Fartu…..facials involve massage, scrubbing, and clean-up na…..so these steps definiately do add up a certain glow to the face……the products used matter only about a little…..but there are fruit facials and mint facials for oily skin fartu….and it’s not really good to get facials done if you have pimples…..because it gets spreads over to the entire face….waiting for them to clear up and then having a facial is good……..it aids in blood circulation…….
