The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Lotion Review

I love Body Shop products and their body butters are savior for my super dry skin. But as summers approached, body butters became a bit heavy on my skin and it was time to give body lotions a chance. 😉 So, I have another Body Shop product for you. It is the body lotion from their “Smoky Poppy: range. Most of the products from this range are already reviewed on IMBB and today, it is body lotion’s turn. 😉

My Experience with The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Lotion:

I was not really looking forward to try this variant. Though the packaging did lure me, I have used the body butter from the same range and I did not like the fragrance. But my hubby liked it and so he picked up the body lotion too. The body lotion comes in a black bottle with a pump attached. The black packaging with the splash of the red poppy flower makes it look strong and powerful, yet sensuous and sexy at the same time. 😉 The pump can be locked/unlocked by turning the knob clockwise/anti-clockwise. Though the pump can be locked the bottle is not really travel friendly.

The consistency of the body lotion is really thick and not very liquid-y as most of the lotions. It is very creamy and a little is needed per use. Though the lotion is thick, it goes on easily on the skin. I use it straight after the shower and it readily absorbs into my skin without leaving any greasy layer.

It keeps my dry skin moisturized for around 10 hours or so, which is not bad. My hubby has normal skin and it hydrates his skin for almost whole day.

Coming to the fragrance – the Smoky Poppy collection is made with hand-harvested Poppy extract from Turkey. I really don’t know how smoky poppy smells but the body lotion does smell a bit smoky and musky. It is really different from the usual floral and fruity TBS fragrances. I was really not a big fan of the fragrance when I was using the body butter, but with this lotion, I am a convert. 😛 Though, the product was picked by my hubby, I use it more that he does. 😉 The fragrance stays for just a couple of hours after which it fades away.  I really like the lotion and it is one of the few uni-sex fragrances that TBS offers.

• Does not leave any greasy layer on the skin.
• Spreads easily on the skin.
• Would suit all skin types.
• Convenient pump packaging.
• Cruelty free.
• Gets easily absorbed into the skin.
• Sexy fragrance 😉

Cons of The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Lotion:

• People with dry skin, like me, may need an additional dose of moisture after a couple of hours.
• The packaging is not travel friendly.

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Lotion?
Summers are here for just a couple of weeks more. And as the weather gets cooler, my skin would need more moisturisation than this lotion provides and I have a couple of more lotions for now. 😛 So, would not be purchasing it this season. But next summer…maybe!!! 😉 😛
