The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Shower Gel Review

Today I’m reviewing one of the products from The Body Shop’s newest collection. It’s called the ‘Smoky Poppy’ collection. This range too has shower gel, body butter, lotion, oil, perfume, scrub and mist, as usual. But, with this new range they have introduced bath bombs too! I recently hauled a few of these and I am going to review them for you guys. So, let’s start with The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Shower Gel.

My Experience with The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Shower Gel:

As always, you can snag these when there are deals going on. It really brings down the price and is a great way to stock up.

The packaging is probably one of The Body Shop’s best. The sleek black look of the product with the splash of red flower looks absolutely stunning. I don’t know about you, but to me, there’s something absurdly sexy and appealing about black packagings. It looks especially attractive and classy.

This shower gel has a black, gel like texture. It lathers well, like all the other The Body Shop gels. Its fragrance lasts about 2 hours when used alone and of course lasts longer when layered with lotion and mist from the same range. It cleanses my skin completely and leaves it feeling smooth. It does the job pretty well.

Now, I have no idea how poppy smells, but the smoky poppy has a nice deep, musky, sexy kind of fragrance. It’s not fruity or floral in any way. I find it more of a masculine fragrance. I love me some fun, floral stuff, but for some reason, I am drawn towards this one. There’s just something very different about it. It intrigues the senses. I am definitely loving it. If you have any doubts about its fragrance, definitely buying it only after sniffing.

By the looks of this collection, I can see The Body Shop’s departure from their usual, happy floral scents. It’s almost as if they have put all the strawberries, blueberries, apples, peaches etc behind and are bringing on a load of muskiness and sexiness, with both the packaging and the scent. I see a radical difference in this new range. Overall, I am very impressed by this.

Classy fragrance in a classy package. What more can a girl ask for! If you like musky or kind of masculine fragrances, go for this one. If you can’t decide, get a whiff of this and then decide. Either way, grab it before you regret it! 😉
