Hope you all are doing great 🙂 Skin exfoliation removes dry skin and keeps skin healthy and smooth. Sometimes excess exfoliation or strong exfoliators can deprive the skin of moisture, hence it is necessary to use a creamy scrub or apply oil or cream before or after using body exfoliator. Today, I am reviewing African ximenia scrub, from The Body Shop Spa of the World body care collection, which is inspired by traditional beauty rituals from across the globe. Product Description:

Softening body scrub with ximenia oil from Namibia, Africa. Handpicked in Namibia from the ‘Tree of Life’, the ximenia fruit seed yields luxuriously rich oil, leaving skin feeling smoother and softer. Our community fair trade beeswax is sourced from guide d’espoir in Cameroon.

Price: £18 for for 350 ml.

Packaging:  The Body Shop Spa of the World African Ximenia Scrub comes in a maroon coloured huge plastic jar with a black coloured plastic lid. Both the jar and lid is made of good quality plastic.

How To Use:

Massage gently over damp cleansed skin in circular motions, working into dry areas like elbows and knees. Rinse off then towel dry.

My Experience with The Body Shop Spa of The World African Ximenia Scrub:

I like to use body scrub once a week or at least twice a month. I have mostly used body scrubs from The Body Shop body care collection and The Body Shop Africa Spa Wisdom Ximenia Salt Scrub and The Body Shop Honeymania body scrub are my favourites.

This time, I picked up Body Shop Spa of the World African Ximenia Scrub. The combination of two key ingredients – ximenia oil and beeswax inspired me to buy this scrub. It is the softest, mildest scrub because you can hardly feel the granules. African ximenia scrub from the body shop spa of the world can be used on its own as a mild scrub or with The Body Shop Exfoliating Gloves for a more strong effect.

This scrub is creamy, has fine grains, mild texture and very mild fragrance. It is not at all strong or harsh, feels very smooth and soft on the skin. I prefer mild exfoliators and this one is perfect, leaves the skin mildly fragranced, clean and smooth.

On a daily basis, I use a moisturising cream on my hands and arms, however, on the days that I use exfoliator for my body, I make it a point to apply body cream on my whole body. This prevents from any unwanted moisture loss. The best part of this scrub is that you do not need to use any creams – it is a mild textured, creamy scrub and leaves the skin feeling soft, smooth and nourished.

It removes unwanted dry skin, smoothens out ingrowth hair, and makes skin soft, supple and baby like.  This scrub does not dry, dehydrate or irritate my sensitive skin. The traditional beeswax gives a natural glow to the skin and ximenia oil makes the skin soft and nourished. This scrub can be used in the mornings to awaken your whole body or in the evenings after a hectic day to relax your body and muscles. I prefer using it on weekends or holidays and to complete the body relaxing ritual, I use body cream from The Body Shop Spa of the World range. My body feels pampered, relaxed and rejuvenated. Since I use it once a week or twice a month, this huge tub sized jar will last for almost six months. Another tip I would like to share with you all, besides using oil or cream before or after scrubbing, drinking a glass of water before and after scrubbing the body helps.

Would I Recommend The Body Shop Spa of The World African Ximenia Scrub?

If you prefer a mild textured creamy scrub, then yes, I definitely recommend the Body Shop Spa of the World African Ximenia scrub. Yes, will repurchase after finishing this huge tub.
