The Body Shop Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay Review

Body Skin Type- Normal

No doubt this was one of the most exciting products out of the whole range but I was in two minds regarding the usage of the product. Read on how it fared for my skin type.

My Experience with The Body Shop Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay:

The body clay comes in a convenient tube packaging with flip top cap. The details are mentioned on the back of the tube. I love the color theme of the range, though it might be slightly confusing if you own similar stuff from the range. It is easy to use and store and hence a big yay from me.

The texture is something unique to me considering it is a body product. I have used charcoal for the face, but for the body it was new to me. It looks and feels super gooey; I love the texture as it is thick but it spreads really well on the skin. Compared to charcoal face packs, the texture is rich and creamier. It smells heavenly, more on the fresh side as I was expecting it to be more on the woody musky type fragrance. I absolutely enjoy the 10-15 mins that it stays on the body.

The effect of the clay is relaxing and calming to begin with. It dries up on the body in 10 minutes or so leaving behind an ashy black layer. It is pretty messy to wash off the clay but it is worth the effort. The skin feels touchable clean and smooth. A bit of exfoliation comes in the process as well, since you have to rub on a bit, to completely wash it off. It does not completely dry out the skin but definitely does not hydrate either. I see it as a body pack that deep cleanses the skin and takes off the deep rooted dirt and grime. The fragrance comes as an added bonus to the product. It is a high maintenance product and not a must-have but if you want a bit of luxury in you shower routine, go ahead and indulge!

Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Body Shop Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay?
I might not repurchase it because this too expensive and it gets used up pretty soon. There is hardly any way to extend the usage of the product. I would recommend it to people who love pampering themselves in-shower once in a while. This is a high maintenance product, definitely not necessary but pure luxury.

  1. Looks like an amazing product.I guess if we have to apply it to all our body it won’t last more than one usage . Definitely a nice product but its too expensive.Nice review dear.

  2. The word “Charcoal” makes me go week in the knee for any product that contains it 😉 This looks like a great one. Also in Canada the cost of this product comes to 24 dollars which is approx INR 1200 which is great and they have a 50 percent off on the Canadian website which makes it even better 🙂 🙂 Thanks for the review dear. This baby is going straight into my shopping cart 🙂
