My Take on The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub:
It sounds like an awesomely fruity treat, isn’t it? In a way, it is, but let me tell you, its not the kind of fruity scent that many people would find great – its has this strong scent of peaches which is so artificial. Though I liked the fragrance, some of my friends scrunched up their noses 😛
Talking about consistency, its a nice creamy, peach-colored scrub with lots of well-rounded, non-abrasive granules that comes in the usual TBS tub packaging. The creamy base is not thick and the granules not harsh at all and do the exfoliating job pretty well. When I first saw that the granules were in a creamy base, I thought they would not be effective enough, but I was wrong, the scrub works well in exfoliating dead skin cells and leaves the skin smooth and soft.
This scrub should be used on damp skin, it helps the scrub to glide smoothly on to the skin. Also, use it in circular motions and rinse off to get smooth skin. The scent of the peaches linger on for some time after the shower too.
Also, when you look at the scrub in the tub, you would think that there are not many granules/beads in there, but when you use it on your body, you would realize that there are good enough granules to provide effective exfoliation.
Since its a really good body exfoliator, you would be tempted to use it more than twice a week and in that frequency, the scrub will not last for long, probably 1-1/2 months. Also, since its winters now, I tend to use it a lot more often to get rid of the dry skin. It clears off dry patches and itchy skin completely.
Because it contains sweet almond, peach oil, etc., it does not dry out the skin or leave it stretchy post-use.
I have not attempted to use it on the face, I feel it might be too harsh for face.
Overall, I think it is a very good body exfoliator and coming from the brand TBS, I know that it does make use of peach extract, peach seed powder, sweet almond oil, etc., though the fragrance is strongly peachy, its artificially added.
Pros of The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub:
- A pretty good body exfoliator which clears off dead skin cells and dry patches on skin.
- Well-rounded scrub granules in a creamy base that are not harsh or abrasive.
- Contains natural peach extracts, sweet almond oil, and peach seed powder.
- Does not dry out the skin.
- Strong peach fragrance.
Cons of The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub:
- This scrub has a strong peachy fragrance which will not appeal to many.
- The quantity would last for around 1-1/2 months, especially in winter months.
