My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet:

My skin has started behaving very weird for the past 5 months. I was born with good skin and used to be normal (used to get occasional pimples), but all of a sudden, at the beginning of summer, I started having acne. Initially, I had ignored and thought that some product might have reacted, but when it did not improve even after 4 months, I reckoned that maybe it was due to some hormonal changes and consulted a dermatologist and now I am following a regimen given by him. My dermatologist had prescribed 5% benzoyl peroxide which makes my skin really dry if used in excess, but somehow, I was managing. But as winter is approaching, my skin condition has become even worst; not only I get acne (if I use any moisturiser), but also it starts getting dry (if I do not use any moisturiser). So, I needed something that keeps my dryness at bay without causing acne and that is when this product came into the picture.

The other day, I was at the TBS store and was looking for some good moisturiser. I always wanted to try their Vitamin E range, so while I was checking it out, I saw this little jar of sorbet. I was having 2-3 dry patches at that time on face, so to check its performance, I applied a small amount only on my dry patches and you would not believe, within 30 seconds, the dry patches were all gone and my skin felt silky smooth and that was the time I knew that I had to get the sorbet.

The sorbet has a very nice and coarse texture, and it is like sorbet. When you apply it on your face, it feels as if you are applying actual sorbet. It gives such a nice cooling and tingling sensation. So, this is going to be a perfect product for summer to beat the heat and humidity. The sorbet comes in a small jar made of frosted glass. If you have noticed, Vitamin E range products typically have a very boring packing, but this one looks different and pleasant.

The sorbet is very smooth in consistency, feels as if you are applying a layer of liquid silk on your face.  If anyone of you has used Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Cream, you would know what I am talking about.  Within 30 seconds of application, the skin becomes really smooth. I feel so good while applying sorbet on the skin.  The sorbet contains Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Wheat Germ Oil, and Soybean Oil to hydrate, and Menthol to cool the skin.

The downside is the presence of Dimethicone, which means it has high silicone content and it’s because of dimethicone that we get a velvety-smooth feel during application.  For some, this could cause issues such as pore-clogging, especially for sensitive skin, but honestly, I am going through that phase and have not really faced any issues (but that could be because I am using dermatologist’s prescribed regimen).

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

Overall, this is a nice addition to the vitamin E range, especially for those with sensitive skin who cannot use their regular products.  This is good because of its texture and it also provides moisturisation for a long time (not for 24 hours as claimed), but at least for 10 hours.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet:

  • Nice, light, fluffy texture, just like sorbet.
  • Meant for all skin types, good for sensitive skin too.
  • Gives a nice tingling effect post application.
  • Provides good moisturisation.
  • Makes skin soft and supple within seconds.
  • Paraben free.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet:

  • Does not provide 24-hour moisturization.
  • Contains dimethicone.
