The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil Review

Hello Ladies,

Today’s product is a new release from The Body Shop. It was an impulse buy. Me and my friends both picked this up from TBS while in Chandigarh. She, by the way, is a big fan of TBS. Me? Not so much. We had a nice evening (read, without my kids) just feeling free and shopping through Elanté Mall. Let’s see how this one fared on my beauty scale:

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil:

I use this in the night 4 to 5 times in a week. I apply this after removing my makeup, on cleansed face. I use about 4-5 drops for the entire face and neck – gently massaging the skin in upward direction.

The serum-in-oil product is a transparent oil which gets readily absorbed by the skin. Please note that I have oily skin – it still gets readily absorbed by my skin. Post application, you will have a thin layer of oil on your face, yes, but I have had no issues of bed sheet staining due to it.

The next morning, when I get up, the skin feels slightly oily. After cleansing my face, I find it to be somehow hydrated and rested. The skin feels smoother and suppler. I have been using this for close to a month – it has not made any impact on the pigmentation – but then, the product does not claim to do so either. I am just clarifying this point – don’t expect whitening or pigmentation removal from it. All it does is recharge the skin with moisture, making it softer, healthier looking and rested. The skin looks brighter – I constantly struggle with dull skin.

I ensure I apply it in my under eye area. I feel it relaxes my skin and the under eye area seems a tad brighter and less wrinkly!

When the skin looks and feels refreshed, the makeup also goes on more easily. It did not break me out or cause any irritation to the eye area.  It has a distinct quite pronounced fragrance, which might become a con for people who do not like skin care with fragrance.

To sum this up for you:

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil:

  • Lightweight texture.
  • Absorbs easily – no sign of greasiness.
  • Spreads easily.
  • Gives smooth, supple rested skin.
  • Did not break me out.
  • Fragrance free – suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Did not sting my eyes.
  • Free  from parabens.
  • Water resistant.
  • Suitable for all skin types.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil:

  • Has fragrance – might be a con for some (not for me, though).

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5

It worked decently on the skin considering it delivers what is promised.  It’s not HG material – not something I can’t live without, but yes, for me, whose skin was taking a toll due to lack of sleep/rest – it has worked very well on restoring moisture, brightness and suppleness.
