The Body Shop has come out with a new range of products recently – the “Wild Argan Oil” range. The range consists of eight products, including a bubble bath, body scrub, shower gel, body oil, lip balm, body lotion, solid oil and of course, no Body Shop range would be complete without a body butter. This range seems very promising for a number of reasons. To begin with, there is a large variety of different products and so there is bound to be something to suit everyone’s tastes. Secondly, the argan oil that is used in this range has been sourced from Morocco and The Body Shop website has a video on the processes involved in obtaining the oil from the Argan nuts. I find this great because I have a greater understanding about what exactly goes into the products and I know what I am using on my skin. From what I can see on the website, the argan oil that has been used is organic and so now I know that I am applying good quality products onto my skin.
The product I decided to try from the Wild Argan oil range was the Wild Argan oil solid oil lip balm and this is because, firstly I really needed a new lip balm and secondly, since I had not tried anything from the range before, I wanted to start off with something smaller and see whether or not I liked it, before trying out the other products. So, let’s get straight into the review!
£ 4.00 (20 ml).

My Take on The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Solid Oil Lip Balm:
This product is fantastic! I love it for so many reasons and I am yet to find anything wrong with it, even though I have now been using this product for over three weeks. For a start, the packaging is lovely. The product comes in a gold coloured tin, with the Wild Argan Oil solid lip balm sticker on top. The packaging is very simple yet elegant and the tin itself is sturdy and strong.
The product comes in 20 ml, making it very travel friendly – I love taking it out with me in my handbag. Another thing I LOVE about the product is the smell – it smells divine!! I can’t really explain the scent to you in words, but it smells almost delicious, sweet and musky. I have never smelt anything quite like it and the scent of this product always feels very calming and soothing.
I know that the main purpose of a lip balm is to hydrate and soothe lips, but let’s face it – the scent of a product also plays a very important part in whether or not you want that product near your lips! The balm itself has quite a buttery texture, it isn’t greasy in the slightest and feels quite creamy. The consistency of it is not as slippery as Vaseline, it is a bit thicker than that, but glides onto the lips seamlessly. The colour of the balm is an almost deep yellow shade, however, it applies clear onto the lips and contains no glitter or shimmer.
The product moisturizes my lips very well, stays on for a good couple of hours and leaves my lips feeling very soft and supple. As a side note, since I suffer from eczema, I find that sometimes I have to layer on the lip balm or add another product on top, such as Vaseline, to make sure that my lips are fully moisturized. However, I only do that because of my eczema – for the rest of you, this product alone should be fine to moisturise your lips!
It also looks glossy on the lip, so it would be great to apply over a matte lipstick, if you would like to add some extra shine and also seal your lipstick. However, I would recommend you all to make sure that your lips are exfoliated before using this lip balm because if there are dry patches on your lips, it can cling onto the dry patches and accentuate them.
This product costs £4 and I think that this product is such a brilliant buy and worth every penny. It will last a long time because only a little bit of product is needed for the lips and you are getting such good value for your money. Since this product is also affordable, I know it is something that I will buy again once I run out- I love it that much!
I know this is a lip balm, but I actually love to smooth some of the product onto my brows before I go to bed, since argan oil is great for conditioning the hair. Alternatively, due to the balmy nature of this product, this lip balm is great for keeping your eyebrows in shape and smooth away any unruly little eyebrow hairs! I also apply some onto my eyelashes at night, this product is very multipurpose in my opinion and I love that!
