I am a big fan The Body Shop products specially their body butters and other personal care products. Yes, I know they are a bit expensive – but they have definitely struck a positive cord with me. Usually I pay a visit to TBS, every 3 – 6 months, and on one such visit, I came across this regenerating day cream. The cream is invented to fix skin troubles and reduce fine lines of women aged above 40. Once I read the claims and based on my previous experiences with the TBS products, I decided to buy the day regenerating skin cream for my mother.

The Body Shop claims that the Wise Woman Regenerating Day Cream is formulated to provide you with 12 hour moisturization. The cream firms, hydrates, and promotes skin regeneration, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines. Let’s see how many of the claims made are actually true!

My experience with The Body Shop Wise Woman Regenerating Day Cream:

Well, let’s start with the aroma. I don’t know why but this cream makes me think of the calcium Sandoz tablets I used to have as a kid! 😀 Sorry, this is actually the best way I could describe the smell as. I personally find the scent a bit on the stronger side, but it fades off soon after application.

Texture wise it appears creamy and is packed with tiny golden shimmer particles; needless to say the shimmer makes your skin glow. Though the shimmer is not over the top and some might not even notice it, still I think it might be a concern for those who prefer matt finish look. Also, it does not absorb easily in your skin – you have to massage it into your skin else it will leave white dry residue on your skin. My mother has somehow developed a tendency of using this as a night cream though as she does not like the shimmer this cream leaves on her face. She has been using this cream for over 3 months now and I have to say, I personally feel her dark spots have lightened.

Another thing I would like to mention is it does not irritate skin like some regenerating creams does. I have tested this out myself and made other members of my family try it out on their skin too and it suited everyone. 😀

However, as far as the moisturizing capabilities of the cream are concerned – it is not overly hydrating – decent enough to suit skin types between normal to dry. But it definitely does not give 12 hours of hydration. Also, this regenerating cream lacks SPF, which in my opinion should be a must-especially if it is a day cream!

No, (No SPF and parabens presence made it a No No for my mother).

Do I recommend The Body Shop Wise Woman Regenerating Day Cream?

I would say it would be best if you try this cream yourself – the shimmer, fragrance and no SPF might be a problem for some. But what you really have to consider is the ingredient list.
