“People see me as cute, but I’m so much more than that.” – Ashley Tisdale
I came across this cutie pie in Sephora and it’s a hand cream from their The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX collection of mini pet perfumed hand creams. This is a Korean company that has been around since 2006 and claim that they bring the best of technology and nature to formulate their face and body products. The company name, The Face Shop sounds like it was inspired from The Body Shop…hmmmm! This brand houses products that range from face to body to hair products and perfumes; as well as their own range of makeup. Their advertisements for the Mini Pets collection depict that they are targeted towards teens, but I guess anyone can use them and do pose as great gift items for friends.

The company describes this packaging as: A cute and lovable design. Cute characters that you can only find in Lovely ME:EX. And it is an extremely cute mini tub in the shape of an adorable animal pooping out of the tub of cream. The packaging attracted me and was a pleasant distraction from my usual sophisticated tubes of hand creams that I carry in my bag or have at home.
My Experience with The Face Shop 02 Sweet Fruits Lovely ME:EX Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream:
This mini tub of hand cream instantly reminded me of the Hello Kitty products, so I’m guessing this would be a hit amongst teenagers who have just started venturing into beauty products too, as well as adults who have a thing for cute stuff. (There’s always a kid in all of us!) 🙂 The Face Shop does have a large range of more chic hand creams and lotions, but I thought of giving this lil’ baby a try as it claims to contain Glycerin, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Fruits extracts and Argan oil.
The Mini pets range comes in a Baby Powder scented version, a White Floral and a Fruity Floral scent. I chose the Sweet Fruits as it is said to have Mango and Peach fruit extracts and does smell fruitilicious. The texture is very light and quickly absorbs into the skin without any greasy residue, leaving behind a trail of fruity fragrance. As it is a light cream, I find that it is not apt for very dry hands and in this harsh Delhi winter I do require something more intense and penetrating. I would prefer this as a daily hand cream in summers where I don’t require heavy nourishing.
Pros of The Face Shop 02 Sweet Fruits Lovely ME:EX Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream:
- Extremely cute packaging.
- Light to medium moisturizing power with good moisturizing ingredients.
- Smells fruity.
- Small and travel friendly.
Cons of The Face Shop 02 Sweet Fruits Lovely ME:EX Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream:
- Not recommended for intense hydration and moisturizing.
Would I repurchase The Face Shop 02 Sweet Fruits Lovely ME:EX Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream?
Probably not as I’ve found some of my go-to hand creams that I would stick to once I use this up. But, yes it’s a great daily light cream for hands, for those who don’t require heavy duty hand creams.
Conclusion: I definitely went with this for the sheer reason of the oh-so cute tub. Once I’m done with this, I will surely use this tub for storing my favourite cream/body butter etc… for when I travel.
