Today I am back with a review on a product by a very famous brand called “The Face Shop”. I recently did a little haul form multiple Korean brands like Innisfree, The Face Shop, Holika holika and Etude house. So expect reviews of some Korean products in the coming days. So today’s review is on a makeup remover by The Face Shop from their Herb Day range. Rashmita recently reviewed the cleansing tissues from the same range and they are really good. Read on to know whether this one stands up to its claim or not.
Price: INR 562 (approx.) for 130 ml
This mild makeup remover is enriched with plant extracts to nourish skin as it removes waterproof makeup residue. Gently removes heavy makeup around the sensitive eyes, and reduces lip pigmentation.
How to use:
1. Shake well before using.
2. Pour moderate amount on cotton pad and soak to cotton pad.
3. Press lightly the area with point make-up around 20 seconds and remove gently
My Experience with The Face Shop Herb Day Lip & Eye Makeup Remover:
So this product comes in two variants: one for all skin types and one for only sensitive skin. I will be reviewing the one for all skin types. The makeup remover comes in a cute little chubby bottle made of clear plastic with a blue tint so that you can see how much product is left inside. The one for sensitive skin has green tint to the bottle.
This one has two liquids, one is plain watery type liquid and another one is an oil based liquid. This one is very similar to Clinique’s Take the Day off Makeup Remover, which I totally love. So every time, before using this, you have to shake it well for both the liquids to mix together as both of them are of different consistency and viscosity and they separate from each other every time you put down the bottle. Once mixed properly, I take few drops on a cotton pad and place it on my eyes and lips and wait for 5-10 seconds for the makeup to dissolve and then I just wipe it off. I must say that this is an excellent dupe for the Clinique one as it takes off all the makeup so easily and instantly without any stress, leaving the area pretty clean. But post cleaning, it does leave an oily residue behind which can be easily cleaned off using a good face wash.
This remover is effective on waterproof makeup as well and takes that stubborn mascara off my lashes pretty easily. If you have sensitive skin around eyes, this is a good option as it is very gentle on skin, but still I would suggest to go for the one meant for sensitive skin. The product claims to contain mild vegetable components like herb complex and licorice extracts that remove makeup cleanly and without any burden.
Pros of The Face Shop Herb Day Lip & Eye Makeup Remover:
• Very effective.
• Removes waterproof makeup as well especially that stubborn mascara.
• Removes makeup without any tugging.
• Non-irritating and non-stinging.
• Very gentle on skin especially around eyes and on lips.
• Does not smell funny or strong.
• Very affordable.
• A nice dupe for the Clinique one.
Cons of The Face Shop Herb Day Lip & Eye Makeup Remover:
• Not available in India.
• Leaves behind an oily residue.
• Opening of the bottle is pretty wide and you end up getting a lot of product.
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
