Having blackheads and whiteheads is something that is completely inevitable. And, nose strips are quite effective when it comes to removing those peeking blackheads and whiteheads instantly. I am fond of using nose strips as they make my nose appear clearer and smoother in minutes. There are two variants of nose strips in the Jeju Volcanic Lava range – aloe and volcanic ash. The aloe variant has already been reviewed on IMBB. Today, I will be reviewing the other variant, volcanic ash nose strips, from The Face Shop. To know the details, let’s get into the review.

My Experience with The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Volcanic Ash Nose Strips:
Packaging: The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Volcanic Ash Nose Strips come in a peachy colored cardboard box. The outer box houses all the information in both Korean and English. There are a total of 7 nose strips in the box. Each nose strip is further individually wrapped in a tearable sachet. The sachet also houses the exact same information as on the outer box. The packaging is completely hygienic and super travel-friendly.
About the strips: The nose strips are quite thin but do not get torn up while using. It’s one side is smooth black while other meshed. The black side has to go on the nose, but it does not feel sticky or gluey at all. About the fragrance, it is mild and undetectable unless you sniff over the nose strips.
Usage/Result: For a quite long time, I have been using a few skin care products that helped me in controlling excessive sebum and preventing the whiteheads and blackheads. Hence, nowadays, I am just having nominal surfaced whiteheads over the nose. However, deep-rooted or tiny whiteheads over the nose area are still my concern. Most of the nose strips are not effective in extracting deep-rooted or tiny whiteheads, but still, I thought of trying this one out.
Before using nose strips, I take facial steam to soften the whiteheads and blackheads. It makes their extraction much easier. After taking steam, I place the nose strip on my wet nose and leave it for 10-15 minutes, till it gets dry. Despite not being sticky or gluey, it gets settled over the nose perfectly and does not budge. To be more exact, it sticks on the wet surface but does not feel sticky when touched in dry condition. The nose strip is a little curvier than the others I have used. In terms of coverage, it covers more area around the nose perfectly. Within 15 minutes, it gets completely dry and becomes stiff and then I start pulling it from bottom to top.
The removal process is not at all painful. Yes, it does get stiff but it does not hurt. You will definitely get my point if you are used to such nose strips. After removing, there is no blackish or grayish residue left behind. I had acne breakout a few weeks back and am currently on prescribed tretinoin that has made my skin a little dry and flaky. I was a bit afraid of using nose strip on my flaky and already peeling nose. But, thankfully, it did not irritate or peel off the skin along with it.
It makes the nose look very much clearer and smoother. In fact, it removes the entire surfaced whiteheads in one go. However, it is not completely effective in removing the deep-rooted sebum but removes it to an extent. This is one of such nose strips that are actually effective in extracting the tiny whiteheads and I am completely in love with it.
