The Face Shop The Therapy Hydrating Tonic Treatment Review

By Vaishnavie K

Hello, all!

I was intrigued by the multiple-step Korean regime. In the past, my skincare regime would consist of washing the face with whatever face wash I was into at that time and following it up with a toner (sometimes) and moisturizer. I was too lazy even to follow them correctly. But, then my skin felt betrayed and started a war with me. I suffered from acne, redness, and sensitivity. My skin was always a combination skin. I was using Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer for ages. But, suddenly, even that felt heavy and started giving breakouts. I went mad just looking at those bumps on the skin. I started taking care of my skin a lot, and we are at cold war stage right now, which I feel is better than being active at war.

So, during the battle with my skin problems, I developed my own regime. I searched a lot, learned a lot and corrected my skincare. I started following multiple regimes or the famously called 10-step regime. Here, I am sharing one of the products, with which I fell in love with, unexpectedly. But, love always happens like that, right?

My Experience with The Face Shop The Therapy Hydrating Tonic Treatment:

The Face Shop The Therapy Hydrating Tonic Treatment Review Front

I bought this after much contemplation because I wanted a toner that will not make my skin dry and also it should be suitable for my combination skin type. I was using the serum from the same range before. It made my skin so smooth and soft, and I was happy with it for 6 months. I saw that this toner was from the same range, so I bought it without any further thought. I usually use this as the last step or before a light moisturizer. We have had harsh summer for the past few months. So, I didn’t feel the need of a heavy cream after this step.

Coming to the product itself, it comes in a frosted glass bottle, which is heavy and not travel-friendly at all. The cap is tight and so it can be said leak proof. The product has been provided with a pump and it dispenses the right amount of product. One pump would be enough for face and neck.

The toner is transparent in color, slightly thicker than water, not runny, and non-sticky. It does not dry soon on contact with the skin and rather needs a bit of patting. I take a pump of the toner and pat it on to my face and neck. It is so cooling, and when you apply this after a long day, it is so soothing to the face. All you need is just a few taps with your fingers. I usually use a cotton pad while using it for the first time and after a few minutes, I follow it up again. I usually use it thrice. First, I use with the cotton pad, then twice with my hands. It is important to leave a few minutes between them if you want to do multiple layers of the toner. It is just my method of using it, after many tries. Using it once is enough. But thrice gives more glow and plumpness to the skin in the morning.

It didn’t cause me breakouts, which was a huge plus. And, since I had not used any hydrating toners before, I liked it a lot. The product says that it is a combination of toner, essence, and emulsion. But, it is mainly a toner in my opinion. This can be the last step if you have oily skin, and if you have dry skin, you might need more to follow it up with a cream of your choice.

Pros of The Face Shop The Therapy Hydrating Tonic Treatment:

• Hydrating
• Non-sticky
• Availability
• Claims are satisfied
• One bottle will last for ages. I have been using mine for 3 months and I still have more than half of the bottle remaining

Cons of The Face Shop The Therapy Hydrating Tonic Treatment:

• Cost. But, considering the quantity, it is not that great a con if you can buy it on sale
