It’s time to give your body the much needed break and boost your metabolism. Today, I am going to share with you some very simple detox techniques that you can incorporate into your fall routine. These simple tools would help to cleanse your system and prepare you for the winters. After all, who wants to be down with flu and fatigue, when you can be healthy and radiant?
1) Water, Water and More Water
The most essential step in any detox plan is to keep yourself hydrated. So drink at least 2-3 liters of water. In fact, the more you drink water, the easier it is for the body to flush out toxins from your body.
2) Then, Some More Water (with a twist)
Since detoxification majorly deals with huge fluid intake, you can add some smart ingredients to your water to reap some extraordinary health and beauty benefits. Add honey & lemon to warm water and drink in the morning. Another gut friendly option is unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar which, if diluted with water, and consumed can enhance digestion and metabolism both. It is full of probiotics and can help in weight loss too and cholesterol reduction.
3) Add A Bit of Coconut Oil
We often wonder how coconut oil is used for cooking such a wide variety of foods in the Southern India. In fact, it is one of the healthiest oils out there. Between dinner and breakfast, maintain a 12 hour gap. In the initial 4-6 hours, the body digests the food and during the next hours, it detoxes the blood and body, making it a good time for fat burning naturally. Do not eat your dinner late as it disrupts the body’s natural rhythm.
5) Pamper Yourself with Dry Brushing
The simple technique of dry brushing your skin can show wonderful results. By devoting 10 minutes to this, you can remove the layer of dead cells and help your skin breathe. This stimulates blood circulation, cellulite reduction and keeps dullness at bay.
6) Sleep (Surprised?)
The most wonderful way to restore the body to its healthy state is by giving it ample repair time. And, this occurs when we sleep. A sound sleep of magical eight hours can help to reduce stress, heal infections, enhance creativity, infuse radiance in your skin and make you feel livelier. A cleansing sleep is a must for detox.
7) Sweat It Out
The benefits of exercise need not be explicitly mentioned. However, during a detox treatment, sweating is a way of releasing toxins and what better way than exercise to do it? You shed off the extra pounds and throw away the toxic compounds from your body. A win-win situation.
8) Challenge Your Body More
Other than exercise, you can opt for sauna or cryotherapy. The temperature conditions and the novelty to your body instantly peaks your metabolism. You can enjoy the benefits of improved immunity, muscle relief, glowing skin and weight loss for so little effort.
