My Experience with theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Charismatic:
Let’s start with the packaging of the product. The lipstick tube comes in a simple cylindrical shape and a see-through packaging, which helps to spot the shade easily. The shade name is mentioned at the base of the tube. The tube closes securely with a regular screw on cap, which fits securely making it leak proof and travel friendly. The tube is sleek and fits in my clutch easily. The shape of the lipstick is fairly simple and helps to store them easily. The applicator is attached with the cap. The applicator is a regular soft foamy and doe foot type. The slant tip applicator makes the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips giving a perfect pout. The minis are so tiny and easy to accommodate. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.
theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Reliable is a warm-toned brown shade with some orange tone to it. “Reliable” is a subtle shade, appropriate for everyday wear. This is a gorgeous brownish n*de lipstick. The shade would look good on fair to medium and olive skin tones. The lipstick is matte and looks classy. It looks velvety once it dries out completely on the lips. It has some dimension in its finish, which prevents it from looking flat matte.
This lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance with some minty essence, which is pleasing and non bothersome. It gives a nice and cooling sensation to the lips. It is decently pigmented. One swipe of this lipstick gives semi-opaque finish to the lips. I apply a second coat to even out the edges and smoothen out any streakiness.
The texture of the lipstick is nice, thick and mousse like. It glides smoothly on the lips without any drag. It never settles into the fine lines of the lips. It does not crumble at all and there are no streaking issues. The lipstick is absolutely waterproof and smudge-proof. It is perfectly transfer proof. It does not budge even after a full meal. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not dry out the lips. The lipstick may highlight the dry patches of the lips, so it is mandatory to keep the lips properly exfoliated and moisturized. The lipstick dries out in some 40-50 seconds. It feels slightly sticky initially but once it dries out completely, it feels like nothing is there on my lips.
The lasting power is super long, it stays for 7-8 hours on my lips. The color looks fresh and intense all the time. It does not smear at all. Removing the lipstick is slightly difficult, as you will need a very good makeup remover to remove every stain from it completely.
