My Experience with theBalm Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette:
Packaging: As you can likely gather from the name, theBalm Nude Beach Palette was designed to specifically cater to our love for sandy, beachy nudes. First the packaging, as always, is so cute! I love that they had all the ladies in the Nude Tude Palette, all men in the Nude Dude Palette and now a mix of both in this one. The palette is housed in a beautiful white cardboard box with magnetic closure just like their other palettes. There is also an outer white paper flap with all the ingredient list and shade details.
The shade names are also present inside the palette under each respective shadows, which is really an good idea. There is also a good quality double ended small brush inside the palette, which is quite useful. But I think, it could have been better, if the brush was a bit longer and bigger. Overall, the packaging is funky, adorable and easy to carry around.
Shades: The Nude Beach palette features 12 beautiful neutral shades with matte and shimmery finishes. I fell in love with this eyeshadow palette, once I laid my eyes on it. I love all the shades and I can see myself using it a lot now a days. This is the kind of palette you can use on its own, since every neutral shade you may need is right there. I think that the Nude Beach Palette is more on the warmer side and has more golden shades. Now, let’s discuss the shades in detail.
Brilliant- This is a light beige shade with a matte finish. This can be used on the lid or also as an highlight.
Buff– Buff is a golden peachy pink with a shimmery finish. This shade is the only loser in this palette. It is dry, patchy and doesn’t blend well.
Brainiac- This is a gorgeous berry pink red with a metallic finish. This is a unique shade and looks stunning on the lids. It is one of my favourites.
Built– This is another gorgeous golden champagne color with a striking metallic finish.
Bodacious– Bodacious is a burnt orange brown with a matte finish. This is a perfect warm crease shade that gives a pretty transition on the crease.
Bootylicious– This is another one of my favourites. This is a stunning metallic bronzey shade, which will be perfect for parties and weddings.
Babe– This is a light golden beige with a frosty finish that is perfect for highlighting brow bone and inner corners.
Bright– Bright is a dusty pale rose color with a matte finish and it is perfect for crease.
Brave- This is a beautiful deep plum color with a matte finish. This also falls in my category and can be used to smoke up any look.
Bold– This is a subtle light brown with a matte finish.
Breathtaking– This is surely a breathtaking gorgeous copper shade with a metallic finish.
Brazen– Brazen is another matte shade which is more like a dark ash brown color.
Formula: theBalm has improved its eyeshadow formula! The shimmery eyeshadows feel creamier to the touch, and the mattes are way more silky smooth. I’m really impressed with the texture of the shadows. Most of the colors are super pigmented and swatches well with a brush as well as hand. There is some fallout especially with the metallics, but that is because the shades are very creamy and pigmented.
The metallic shades are gorgeous and have won my heart and the mattes are very smooth and even the darker shades blend well. The shades are smooth, blends well and doesn’t feel powdery or chalky except for one shade “Buff”, but for me, it’s not a deal breaker. These shadows also have a impressive wear time. They stayed up well for the entire day. I am in love with the formula. It is nice, neat and works like a high end brand palette.
Comparison with other Palattes:
Now comparing it to the other latest palettes in the market, it does have the vibes of Urban Decay Naked heat palette, as both are warm toned. I felt that it has some similarities with the ABH Modern Renaissance as well. There are certain berry shades in this one which matches with the ABH palette, and the orange tones go in hand with the Naked Heat. This palette has a unique round up of shades, which falls under the warm orange tone trend and also includes more golden metallics, which is just wow.
The price of this palatte, $36 is less than the other two, but this has the least quantity compared to the others. This can be understood by looking at the pan size of this one. This makes it more costly in terms of single eye shadow. Thus, this is way more pricey than ABH and Naked Heat and this questions the value for money. Naked Heat is gorgeous but has some repetitive shades and is more orange based, and ABH is a bit pricey on the whole. I believe even Tarte has come up with a new warm toned palette in the market called as “Tartellete Toasted”.
So, if you want to try warm toned palette and doesn’t own any of the other palettes, then this is a must try. Because, it offers more versatile shades with outstanding quality, but you don’t need both. Overall, I’m really happy with this palette and I am clearly enjoying the beach vacation.

I love this palette, but may not repurchase the same. But, I will surely recommend it to anyone who wants to try a new warm toned palette.
