My Experience with theBalm Nude tude Eyeshadow Palette:

This palette comes in two packaging – Naughty and Nice. Both of them contain the same shades, just the print is different. I have the Naughty one, which indeed is naughty 🙂

I would call this as a perfectly balanced nude (neutral) palette with right blend of light, medium and dark shades. Also, it has a mix of matte, shimmery and satiny shades. I feel the color selection is just perfect to create anything from everyday look to dramatic smokey eye and anything in between.

If you are new to eyeshadows, you might want to start with a neutral palette like this before starting with vibrant colors. This would give you more confidence to wear eye shadows.  From this palette, you can just use one shade as an all over lid shade or create a sophisticated look with multiple shades.

Another cool thing about this palette is that it contains basic shades like matte black (Serious) and medium matte brown (Sultry), which can be used, for many different purposes in a eye look. So, this palette is all you need to create any type of neutral eye look.

The packaging is theBalm style cardboard packaging with magnetized flip lid. It also sports a full-sized mirror, which is so handy during travel and also at home if you want a closer look of your eyes while applying eye shadow.

They have also included a shadow/liner brush, which can be handy during travel. I have used the angled shadow brush to apply eye shadow all over lid and the liner side of the brush to line the upper and lower lash line. All I have used is an extra blending blush apart from the included brush.

Here is the breakdown on each shade:

Sassy:  Frosty white with a buttery smooth texture, great for highlighting.

Snobby:  Butter cream shade (Light Yellow). Not as soft as Sassy but still good. Works well as an overall lid shade and great for highlighting as well.

Stubborn:  Satiny peach shade, super smooth and applies with good pigmentation. Absolutely no fall out.

Stand-offish:  Light metallic peach shade. Super smooth. Just a light dab would pick enough product. I like to use this for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes and occasionally under brow bone. That way I need to use with very light hand as this has a super frosty finish.

Selfish:  Brown with gray undertones. Very pretty shade. Satiny finish. Nicely pigmented.

Sultry:  Medium matte brown shade. Soft and applies with same intensity as seen in pan.  A must-have shade for lid, or for blending in shades.

Sophisticated:  Brown with bronzy shimmer. Great for outer V and for crease work.

Seductive:  Satiny golden brown. Such a pretty shade without any glitter, reminds me of festival. Great shade for special occasion.

Sexy:  Rich Burgundy matte shade. Highly pigmented and very soft in texture. One of my favorite shades in the palette.

Silly:  Brown with red undertones and coppery sparkles. This shade goes on sheer on application. Also, the glitters fall out while applying.

Serious:  Matte black shade.  This one is super pigmented and can be used as a black liner for lash line. I have used this shade for lining in the look below.

Sleek:  Deep dark brown with matte finish. This is almost like black . Has a soft texture. Not powdery. This one can also be used for soft lining.

For the look below, I have used Selfish on the inner 2/3rd of my lid and Silly on the outer 1/3 rd. Then, I have taken just a dab of Silly on the blending brush and applied lightly on the crease with a very light hand and buffed it out. Under the brow bone and near the tear duct, I have used Stubborn.  I have lined the upper and lower lash line with the matte black shade Serious. I haven’t used any other liner in this look. Hope you liked the look 🙂
