How are you all doing? I am reviewing theBalm What’s Your Type The Body Builder Mascara in this post today. I have been using it for quite some time now and I am totally impressed. It is called the Balm What’s Your Type Bodybuilder Black Mascara. Without wasting any more time, let’s get to the review straight.

My Experience with theBalm What’s Your Type The Body Builder Mascara:

When looking for regular, day-to-day wear mascara, I look for certain things:

• Volumising mascara along with lifted effect.
• No lengthening effect – I have long lashes naturally.
• Small wand so I can reach to the roots of my lashes.
• A wand shape that would tightline my upper waterline with 1-2 wiggles.
• Jet black color.
• A formula that stays all day long but comes off easily with just a normal/regular cleanser/face wash.

I know my conditions might be too much, but hey, there are plenty of products in the market and I expect to find something that would meet my specifications.

Shade:  The colour is jet black, they have mentioned “Black mascara/Mascara Noir” on the packaging. It is a beautiful deep jet black colour and looks amazing on the eyes.

Applicator: The applicator is long but thin with short bristles. The bristles are fairly close together and holds quite a bit of product. It picks up more product than I like but that is not quite a problem with me, I have learned how to work with it. This mascara helps me in tightlining my upper lash line with just one or two wiggles. Though the wand looks very simple, but if you learn how to work with it, the applicator can lift your lashes beautifully.

Formula: The formula is a little watery compared to other regular mascaras that I have tried. It does take a little while to dry. I personally liked this little watery formula because it gives enough time to play with mascara without it being clumpy. The mascara says it gives volumizing effect which it does but, I personally feel it does give lengthening effect as well.

Staying Power: The staying power is amazzzingg. It will stay put all day and all night long without flaking, smudging or fading. A few days ago, I slept with the mascara on at night and I woke up in the morning with mascara on point! 😉 😉 It can handle slight touching and gentle rubbing, and emotional moments quite well 😛 Even though it is not a waterproof mascara, it will survive a few splashes of water unless eyelashes are rubbed when still wet.

Taking it off is easy peasy! Just wash your face with your daily face wash/ cleanser and your mascara will be completely come off without leaving dark patches under your eyes. I hate it when mascaras, kohl, eyeliners and other eye makeup products do that. I like it when my daily makeup comes off really quickly and easily when I am done for the day.

Pros of theBalm What’s Your Type The Body Builder Mascara:

• It is not a waterproof mascara but will stay put all day and all night long.
• It won’t flake.
• It won’t transfer under your eyes by the end of the day.
• Colour is jet black.
• Adds a voluminising and lengthening effect.
• Defines eyelashes.
• Won’t dry out your eyes.
• No clumping.
• Packaging is cute and travel friendly.

Cons of theBalm What’s Your Type The Body Builder Mascara:

• Watery formula (but I liked its watery formula very much).
• Not waterproof mascara (I wasn’t looking for waterproof in the first place).
• It initially makes eyelashes a little heavy, but as it dries, it just feels fine.
• If you have extremely sensitive eyes like mine, you can experience tiny-miny bit of dryness from this mascara.
• A little bit on the expensive side.
