Three Different Ways to Use Lorac Unzipped Palette

Hi there gorgeous! I realise there are tons of reviews on tons of palettes everywhere, but almost never a one about all the possible combinations you can create with any given eyeshadow palette. I mean, to get the most bang out of your buck, you need to use every shade, right?

Sometimes, I feel we get in a rut, and just use the same combination that clicked a few times and keep repeating it only because we know it looks good. And, so it is a safer option than to experiment. Anyway, I want this post to be a STARTER on some ways you can use your palette to its fullest. The rest of the experimentation has to be done by you, yes you! Who knows you better than yourself! Let’s get started, shall we?

Lorac Unzipped Palette

I love this palette! It is such a gorgeous palette, you guys! The shade ‘Unbelievable’ is such an amazing rose gold colour! So absolutely stunning and so beautiful, especially on our Indian skin. Wow! It is a palette which has only warm shades, so I feel it flatters Indian skin tone amazingly well. Do check out Bee’s full review of this palette.

Personally, when I do daytime looks, I try keeping the look simple. I usually use eyeshadows, eliminate eyeliner(just tight line) and just add mascara. For nighttime, I smoke the look out with the winged eyeliner, kajal, the works! As for the palette, I love the fact that the transition and the dark shades are matte, keeping the focus on the real star, the lid shade. But, the only highlight shade is a white satin-shimmery shade called ‘Undercover’ and is very stark on Indian skin tone. So, if you like matte highlight(like me), you will have to use a different eyeshadow. I use buff from Lorac Pro 2. But, for purposes of the tutorial, I have used it to highlight my brow bone.

I feel there are 3 main ways you can go with this. A gold look, a pink look and a brown-neutral look. Let’s get on with them, one by one.

The Gold Look

Gold is a trending colour now and this look pairs well with Indian outfits. You just can’t go wrong with it.

For this, use ‘Undercover’ as highlight and ‘Undiscovered’ all over the lid. Foil it if you want it to be more intense (wetting your brush with something like Mac Fix+ Spray and then going in the eyeshadow and gently packing it on the lid). Use ‘Unspoken’ as the transition shade. You can stop here for daytime look. For night time, add ‘Untamed’ in the outer corner and blend. I find with ‘Undiscovered’, you have to foil it since it is not very pigmented.

I would suggest if you are wearing this look to a wedding or a glamarous party, and if you have gold loose pigment or glitter, definitely layer it on the centre of the lid to give it even more of a pop.

The Pink Look

This is my favourite look. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Use ‘Undercover’ layered underneath ‘Unreal’ as brow bone highlighter. Use ‘Unreal’ on the inner one third of the lid and the star of the show, ‘Unbelievable’ all over the lid. Blend the edges with ‘Unconditional’ and ‘Unspoken’. Stop here for daytime look. Add ‘Unbridled’ in the outer corner to deepen and give the eyes more dimension.

The Brown-Neutral Look

I say, you can never go wrong with browns. You can use it for an everyday look and look classy and professional for work.

Use ‘Undercover’ as highlight. Use ‘Unattainable’ all over the lid. Blend its edges with ‘Unspoken’. Deepen the outer corner with ‘Untamed’ if you want.

You can substitute ‘Unattainable’ and instead add ‘Uncensored’ all over the lid and follow the same steps as before to get look 2. In my last picture, I did a one-shadow look with ‘Uncensored’.
