How To Make Your Own Tinted Organic Lip Balm – Do It Yourself

How To Make Your Own Tinted Organic Lip Balm – Do It Yourself

Hi All,

I have a very interesting DIY for you guys today. Hope you like it and try it out. It tells you how to make your own organic lip balm without any harmful chemicals. It is quite moisturizing and it has a tint as well! 😀 yippee 😛

Ingredients You Will Need:

Shea butter, cocoa butter, cocoa powder.

Procedure:

1. Melt a tea spoon of shea butter in a bowl.

Some Notes:

Note 1:

It is better to use beeswax while making a lip balm as beeswax is not only moisturizing, it also has hardening properties. This means that at normal temperature, beeswax feels like solid yet soft. Just like most of the lip balms or lipsticks that are solid and not runny like oils and still moisturizing.

Note 2:

Finding shea butter, beeswax or cocoa butter can be a challenge, but people staying in metro cities can easily get these. Just Google and order 🙂

Note 3:

This is your own homemade lip balm and has a full scope of customization. You can add whatever you wish to like a drop of olive or almond oil for example. Just keep in mind that oils are liquids and they may not set very well, so add only a drop or two.

Note 4:

If you have one butter say shea but not cocoa or otherwise, don’t worry. You can add coconut oil as it gets jammed in winters but then you would have to store it in refrigerator.

Note 5:

You may find the tint to be very mild or say equal to no tint. I understand that but then you also need to understand that it is very difficult to extract pigmentation from natural sources. Most of the colors are taken from oxides and that is a chemical process. Since this is organic, it offers less tint!

Internet is full of such tutorials. Though my formula is my own (and I can patent it :P), but you may take cues from internet sources and customize your lip balm.
