How are you all doing? Today, I am going to share some tips to help you detoxify, and the best thing about all the tips is that they pretty much require the help of in-house things. Our body has to withstand a lot of unhealthy and harmful elements which we intake in the form of food – junk or packaged. These food products have a lot of chemicals which, although enhance their flavour and longevity, are very harmful for our body. If these food products are common in your normal diet then your body starts accumulating them, because most of the elements require more than a day or two to be flushed out. Hence, when the toxins start accumulating, they hamper your body’s well-being So, it is very important to make sure that your body gets breaks from these routine intake of junk stuffs.
It is obviously the best if you follow a healthy diet out an out, but still if you find it hard to stay away from tempting, junk food, you can try giving yourself and your metabolism a break from these for a change.
Detoxification means to give your system a break from the regular diet to help the body flush out the already stocked toxins. Here, I will share few tips which will make it very easy and feasible to go through the detoxification process.
Start Your Day With Lemon Water
Don’t go for the everyday tea or coffee! In fact, go for lemon-water. Squeeze half a lemon in a glass of lukewarm water. As we know, lemons is filled with antioxidants, and the warm water helps in flushing out the toxins.
Go For The Smoothies
Instead of packaged fruits drinks or soft drinks or your normal staple breakfast, try smoothies. You can add fresh fruits or vegetables in it of your choice of smoothies. These will help fill your stomach and the fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients and antioxidants.
Skip Dairy, Go Light on Carbohydrates
Try to avoid any dairy product or products rich in carbohydrate as they make the body seem bloated. So, skip the milkshakes or yoghurt or sandwiches or burgers. Try to have diet which is rich in protein and greens and vegetables.
Go Light On Spices
Prepare food with very little spice and oil. Do add spices, but try in the whole form and not the powdered form. The spices do transfer their nutrition in the whole-form as well. Try stew-based dishes. Prepare the food from scratch, no ready-made stuff should be used in any form.
Skip The Mid–Meal Snacks
If you feel hungry then go for a nimbu-pani or shikanji. Also, make sure the timing of your meal is good. Also, don’t go without food for more than 3.5-4 hours.
Drinks 7-8 Glasses of Water
Water helps flushing out the toxins, so it is very important to drink minimum of 7 glasses of water.
Try Green Tea or Herbal Tea
Green or herbal tea comprise of ingredients which are high in nutrition and very high in anti-oxidants, so make sure you include it around evening.
Treat Yourself Good
Take a long warm bath, soak yourself in warm water with some Epsom salt and essential oil. Treat yourself and you will feel great straight away.
Have More Chocolate
Yes! This is the best part of the regime. Increase the intake of good quality chocolate, make sure they have high cocoa content. I can’t emphasize enough on the good qualities of the chocolate. It is high in antioxidants, relieves stress, induces good, no great mood. I, for one, can’t get enough of chocolates! *hihi*
Have A Good Sleep
Make sure you have an undisturbed sleep. Good sleep goes a long way to make our body feel great. Our body needs a minimum of 6 hours of sleep, it should not be deprived of it regularly. It will hamper proper working and will eventually show on your face as well.
So, here are some tips that help you detox. You can try this over the weekend or after some haywire vacation or occasion. But obviously, it’s always better to be mindful on everyday basis. Always keep a tab on what goes inside your body – avoid junk food or packaged food as they do more harm to our body than we realize. And, keep having lots of chocolates! 😉
