Strong and voluminous tresses can be styled in so many different ways and can easily glam up any dull day while weak and limp hair can give us so many bad hair days. In today’s post let’s talk about how you can strengthen those weak strands and make them stronger from within.
What we eat shows on our face, skin and hair. So maintaining a healthy lifestyle and eating right kind of food is very important. If your diet is low on iron then you can suffer from hair loss that leads to thinning of hair. Include green and yellow vegetables in your diet and always snack on fruits instead of junk food.
If your body is dehydrated, it will not be able to supply essential nutrients to your scalp and body. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water will go a long way in maintaining good quality of your hair.
Hot Oil Massages:
Coconut, olive or jojoba oil can really work wonders on your hair strands and scalp. They strengthen your hair and stimulate hair growth giving a lovely texture to your hair. Slightly warm these oils and use them to gently massage on your scalp and ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap and wash it off with any normal shampoo.
Take High Protein Diet:
We all know how important keratin is for our hair. Keratin is a protein that strengthens your hair, improves its texture and stimulates growth. Increase the intake of egg whites, soybeans, cheese, pulses, milk and curd in your diet. You will be able to see the difference in your hair texture in a few weeks’ time.
Choose Your Hairstyles Wisely:
If you thought that tight braiding of your hair will result in longer hair. Think again! Braiding your hair in a tight pony tail can trigger alopecia that will result in extreme hair loss. Do not keep your hair constricted and let them breathe too.
Avoid Heat Treatments:
No matter how much we are tempted to get poker straight hair strands, it is still not a good idea to get rebonding done. Even blow drying and straightening can damage your hair follicles in more ways than one. If you absolutely have to use heat, always use heat protectant sprays beforehand.
If your hair is weak and limp do not make the mistake of combing them wet. This will only make them weaker from your roots. Always use a wide toothed comb and work your way through hair tangles from your fingers and then use a comb on them.
Choose the Right Kind of Products:
Book an appointment with your stylist at a good salon and get a scalp test done to check the quality of your hair. If your hair is severely damage then start using the products prescribed by your stylist and do not go for anything else. Choose those products that will improve the texture of your hair and will infuse the proteins back in your roots and strengthen them.
