Everyone expects us to look perfect on our wedding day. As brides, we too have a lot of ideas in our minds regarding the final look we want. While some of us prefer to go to professional makeup artists to get decked up for the D-Day, some of us prefer to do the makeup ourselves, especially when it’s going to be a day wedding, or when a reputed artist isn’t available. If you too belong to the latter category, here are some tips that you have to be aware of in order to look like the every inch of a princess that you already are! 🙂
• Listen to Your Heart
This is the basic principle to look and feel beautiful on your big day. There are gonna be tons of suggestions about your makeup, but always go for what your have used on face earlier and for something that suits you well. Do not try to do anything for the 1st time on your big day as you don’t want to mess it up. You definitely don’t want to take any risks!
• Practise is The Key
Choose the makeup products and the makeup for the day at least a month before and practice it few times on yourself to get that faultless look and complete satisfaction.
• Choose The Right Products
As the event is big, choosing the best products is a must. I chose MAC for my big day; L’Oreal, Maybelline, NYX etc could also be good options. You can always check product reviews and lipstick swatches on IMBB before investing.
• Become a YouTube Addict
If you’re completely new to makeup, you can always watch wedding makeup videos on YouTube, and learn few basic steps of makeup and get your hands ready. As I was completely new to makeup before my wedding, I did the same.
• Standard Steps You Can Follow
a) Wash : Wash your face well as you want a clean surface to work with.
b) Eye Makeup : It’s always suggested to do your eye makeup first to avoid any coloured speckles to fall over your concealer or foundation. Eyelashes are a must! You cannot step out without them. A bride looks more feminine and delicate with them, so never skip that step.
c) Concealer : Use a concealer to hide away dark circles or dark spots.
c) Primer : This is the base of your makeup that holds your makeup for a long time, so always use a good primer and apply it evenly all over your face.
d) Foundation : Use a good brush or a sponge, and apply it all over your face.
e) Bronzer : Use a deep coloured bronzer on your cheekbone, chin and nose area.
f) Blush : This is my favourite step! Dab a little blush on your cheeks.
g) Lipstick : Use a lip liner first to give yourself a clean outline, then apply your lipstick. However, if you don’t like lipliners, you always have an option of skipping it.
h) Eyebrows : Always define your eyebrows as it makes the face look more dramatic and clean. Use an eyebrows pencil and go with the flow of you hair growth. Remember not to make it too dark as you don’t want to look artificial.
These were my beauty tools of my big day!
As it was a Christian wedding, the makeup was not too heavy. I always wanted to have light makeup, so these are the pictures right after my makeup!
As I wanted natural looking lashes, I opted for these. They were big, but at the same time, didn’t look fake.
The Final Look:
Extra Tip : Don’t forget to take a selfie with your Mr. Perfect on you big day!
