Tish and Snooky’s Manic Panic Purple Haze Flash Lightning Complete Hair Lightening Kit Review

This post is about the review for Tish and Snooky’s Manic Panic Hair Lightening Kit in purple haze. For those who all are interested in DIY for getting colored hair streaks or dip-dyeing your hair ,this post is for you!



To start off about the kit:

It contains the following items:
1. Bleach powder ( which is basically hydrogen peroxide )
2. Cream developer
3. A pair of gloves
4. A plastic bowl for mixing
5. Dyeing brush
6. Instructions

I wanted to only dip-dye my hair since I have a curly hair, I emptied the bleach powder and mixed it with the cream developer till it becomes creamy. Sorry I dyed my hair a week ago and I did not have the idea of writing a post , so I could not take real good pictures. I applied the bleach at the ends where I wanted my hair bleached , for pitch black hair you will have to keep the bleach on for about 60-90 mins but I had kept it for 2 hours and got a lemon yellow colour which was required, so the bleaching was satisfactory. Don’t forget to wash your hair with cold water else it becomes drier and more damaged.

There are various colours , but I wanted to get purple on my hair. For my hair, I used around 4 tablespoon for dip-dyeing. Take the quantity you want into a bowl and use gloves and also wear a shirt which you don’t mind dyed 😛 Apply the dye evenly on your hair and wait for around 30 mins and wash off with cold water. As I had bleached my hair, the colour really showed up well , you may also use this product for highlighting or streaks, the dye also conditions the hair. I did not take a picture immediately after the result , here is the photo after the first wash .

This picture is after the first wash , the immediate result had a deeper shade of colour.

This dye is a semi-permanent dye and would not last as much as a professional salon dye but you can enjoy experimenting with your hair and implementing your ideas rather than having a tough time explaining the hair stylist. I guess the dye will last for 2 to 3 weeks only.

Cons of Tish and Snooky’s Manic Panic Purple Haze Flash Lightning Complete Hair Lightening Kit:

• The bleach damages your hair.
• We have to stay patient for about 3 hours for the end result.
• Colour fades as it is semi-permanent we would not have enough months to enjoy our color

I would rate the product 3.5/5, and I might buy a different colour next time !

Finally, the bleach kit costs around Rs.1300 and the dye was around Rs.1200 , I used the whole bleaching powder since I had no clue about the quantity and ended up wasting a little bit of the product.

Overall , it was a great experience dyeing my own hair and experimenting , it is worth trying with all the different shades available online.
