Today’s Makeup : Negative Space Eyeliner

Hi Everyone, πŸ™‚
Hope you all are doing well. I like to keep playing with different forms of eyeliner. Today’s eyeliner is very straight eyeliner on top and negative space on the lower lash line. Negative space is the empty space that you see between my waterline and lower lashline. You can totally fill that space and do your eyeliner but I wanted to play with a bit more of an editorial / fashion style of the eyeliner.

My tee says ” Art is a Dirty job but someone’s got to do it.” For me makeup is my art. I like the challenge of creating something new always. I might have started doing makeup more for the love of it but I am only getting obsessed with it with every passing day. It’s becoming pure and artistic for me. I am so glad that I have IMBB and I get to share my passion with you all. I hope you like it and give it a try! πŸ™‚ Β You don’t have to have same products as mine. Create with whatever you have. This liner is easier to do with an eyeliner pen than with a gel liner and brush but whatever you suits you. Maybelline and Colorbar both make good eyeliner pens.. You could give this eyeliner a shot with them. πŸ™‚Β

  1. Wow this looks so beautiful. I am not expert with using eyeliner on my waterline. I used to apply it like this in my school days and theke mom and my friends told me that I am doing it wrong. So I stopped wearing it all together. Time to redo the mistake I guess ????

  2. Hello Rati Mam,

You are always trying something new and special. Also you always share it with us, thanks a lot. Really liked this new idea of applying eyeliner. Once by mistake I had applied my lower liner in this pattern, but next time I do it I will wear it boldly, not try to cover up or redo it. Thanks again!!

  3. You have applied the eyeliner so nicely and in such a crisp manner πŸ™‚ I can never wear it so perfectly .. And that negative spacing idea is very different .. You always think out of the box and that makes you the best πŸ™‚

  4. I saw this in the evening and wanted to comment but my little one took over my whole evening with his temper tantrums! Now is when I get to come on the net again!

Love the look Rati! I have been wanting to ask you this question since ages – where do you get inspiration from. You know how we can get into a rut coz we end up leaning towards certain shades and then every other look gets hijacked with that shade. And soon you realise that it isn’t fun anymore! I love the look – yes, it’s not an everyday look – quite editorial! But it’s fun!!

And those lips!! I have to get my hands on that lip pencil!! ??

    1. aww thanks K. πŸ™‚ Loads of places. I think first, the fact that I have been doing it for so many years helps. I mean I myself see that I have come such a long way. And I don’t settle for things easily. I get obsessed (in this case makeup) and then keep pushing my boundaries by trying out new things. Makeup has become more of a personal project for me than just a tool to prettify yourself. Ummm..not sure if that makes any sense. πŸ˜›

Regarding inspiration – I’d say everywhere from ‘real’ makeup artists, travel, looking at things, magazines, ..but most of it comes if you keep trying new things. You might be trying something new, then you’d like something in it..you wouldnt like something, you’d tweak according to what you like..I think I am a bit mad kinds but even real people if they twist and try different stuff in their own makeup, they’d be able to do some fun things within their own liking. πŸ™‚

and more than anything I guess you guys… the readers of IMBB. I want to or atleast try to do something exciting for them. πŸ™‚

  5. Wow.. The eyeliner is goals! I don’t really comment on any posts here but this one is so tempting that i have to comment. Love this totally!

  6. Now that is something we call awesome! Perfection and super awesome Rati. πŸ™‚

I am so loving the creative looks by you. The war of my mind, sunset inspired and the blue colors splash look have blown my mind, but I know that there is going to be that one epic se bhi epic look. I do not know what, but I am expecting one…like Nirvana art.. Waiting for that…
P.S. I know I sound filmy, but I cannot express it better in words. I wish you could see my expressions when I tell you the same.. πŸ˜‰

  7. I love your attitude – you slayyyyyyy!! No two doubts about it! The eyeliner adds to the whole kickass attitude :*
