Today’s Makeup : Shimmery Turquoise and Khaki Eyes

I can’t even tell you how badly I wanted to try out all the makeup products that I recently got my hands on. I wanted to reach home, take photos and then start trying out the new products. Pics taken, haul posted and I just played with all the new makeup looks. I want to try out a lot of coloured eye makeup looks in coming days. This time around even Sanjeev said, “you don’t even buy coloured eyeshadows”.. :\ Well, I just love my neutral eyeshadows so much I can;t help it. Anyhoo, I bought this gorgeous eyeshadow from Tom Ford called Last Dance. It not only has a gorgeous shades of neutrals but a stunning pop of colors as well. It’s quite unusual to see a khaki and a glittery turquoise color packed in one palette. So I had a bit of fun with glitter and color. and OMG! that NARS contouring palette- it has a dream contour color. Just the perfect ashy brown. Hope youΒ enjoy the look and definitley try to recreate it. Would love to see your recreations in madamgupshup. πŸ™‚ I have put eye makeup look steps below. You don’t need the same exact products. Use whatever you have in your kit. πŸ™‚

step 1 : Prime your eye lids with an eyeshadow primer.
step 2 : Use a soft shimmery champagne shade just on the browbone. I used the lightest shade from the TF palette.
step 3 : Use a warm peachy brown eyeshadow just on the crease using a fluffy brush. I used a warm brown shade Dune from the Laura Mercier Palette
step 4 : Now use a medium cool brown just on the crease. I used the cool brown from TF palette.
step 5 : Using a fat pencil brush and a matte khaki color create a ‘V’ both on the inner and outer corner of the lid.
step 6 : Dampen a flat eyeshadow brush and press the glittery turquoise shade on the centre of the lid. And blend the edges a little with the outer Vs you have created.
step 7 : Use an eye kohl on waterline.
step 8 : Follow exactly the same steps you followed on upper lid on the lower lash line as well -khaki on the inner and outer corner and turquoise on just the centre of lower lash line. Also, add a champagne shade just on the inner corner of the eye.
step 9 : Finish off with lots of mascara. And you are done! πŸ™‚

  1. Super awesome!! Colour shadows look more pretty on u. πŸ™‚
I am really curious to know what will be the difference in our look if we dont apply blush? I havent used a blush before bt i am tempted to use one.

    1. blush actually is a natural flush of color on our cheeks. Like how our cheeks get that shade of pink when we come after a run. So when you do makeup you actually are mimicking what is naturally on your skin. that little flush of color on cheeks gives that fresh youthful look to the skin. Hope that helps. πŸ™‚

  2. That emerald shadow is one of the hottest shades ever .. it looks extremely good n you and it is one of the best looking shades on you.. the metallic sheen makes it look perfect.. and I am surely grabbing the designs of those earrings to make one πŸ˜›

  3. You should definitely wear colors more often!!! This eye makeup is beyond imagination: just superb! I would definitely try this look!

  4. Hi there, your haul was simply drool worthy..

From tom ford collection, they had launched the similar shade with brown cream shadows with turquoise shimmer shade called mid night sea last year.. it’s kinda similar.. I have it in my collection and without the primer the base cream simply sucks.. for a 60 dollars stuff it has to be something worth while.. that purchase of mine was a let down by TF

    1. yes i have seen that. what an interesting combo. sad it turned out that way, these eyeshadows are really pigmented. and with shimmer i feel it’s best to use with a wet brush to get the intensity… thanks for the heads up! πŸ™‚

  5.
