Tom Ford #65 Eric Lip Color Review

This review will be on the Tom Ford Lips and Boys collection Lipstick in the shade “#65 Eric.”

Product Description:
Tom Ford Lip Color is filled with rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil to create an ultra-creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated color pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity.

Price:
Since this is a mini lipstick, it retails for $35 dollars each.

My Experience with Tom Ford #65 Eric Lip Color:

Packaging:  Such a gorgeous yet sophisticated lipstick tube which screams luxury. The lipstick is housed in a rectangular tube with shiny black and gold accents with TF embossed on the top of the cap and on the lipstick itself. The only complaint I have is that all the lipsticks look exactly the same, hence if you wanted to grab a certain color, you would have to read the label sticker underneath each lipstick.

Texture and Application:  This lipstick is very smooth and very creamy. It has a slip to it, which feels like silk across your lips. Even with a couple of layers, it does not feel heavy on the lips. I do find the application very easy and precise with the shape of the bullet.

Shade and Finish:  The shade “Eric” is warm reddish pink with a whole lot of gold micro glitter in a creamy base. This shade is one of the most sparkly shades that I have. The shimmers are not subtle and are clearly noticeable from a talking distance, but still, manages to look classy and sophisticated. The sparkles do give a very “eye-catching shine” to the lips which I love, but if you generally do not prefer glittery lipsticks, you should refrain from getting this particular shade. I personally find this shade to be lovely and I am sure it will flatter vast range of skin tones from the palest to the deepest.

Pigmentation and Feel on Lips:  It goes fully opaque in 2-3 swipes. Due to the presence of a whole lot of sparkle, this lipstick does feel a bit gritty as you rub your lips together, but as a whole, it sits very comfortably on the lips and feels moderately hydrating. It does not cling to or accentuate dry patches on my lips nor does it sink into fine lines.

Staying Power:  Staying power is good, not super impressive. It stays on my lips for 4-5 hours with light snacks and drinks with slight fading. It will not survive a full meal and will need reapplication. Some shimmer particles are left stuck behind on your lips even when your lipstick fades, but since they are very fine, it does not look like you have glitter disco ball lips. It can be easily wiped away with a tissue.

Overall, with so many of the same creamy and matte lipstick in my collection, I love the fact that I tried something new in terms of this super sparkly lipstick by Tom Ford. The amazing quality of Tom Ford lipstick can’t be beaten and somehow they even executed this shimmery lipstick perfectly with its amazing creamy, silky smooth texture, beautiful shade and great pigmentation. The only thing I am a bit disappointed about is that it’s not very outstanding, but still an average amount of wear time, but I don’t find this to be huge con. Keeping all this in mind, I still think this lipstick is worth the splurge and I will recommend this lipstick.

Pros of Tom Ford #65 Eric Lip Color:

• Classy packaging.
• Creamy silky formula, just glides on the lips like a dream!
• Lots of minute shimmer particles impart a beautiful shine and dimension to the lips without looking like a crazy disco ball.
• Moderately hydrating on the lips, leaves lips feeling very comfortable.
• Staying power of 4-5 hours.
• Opaque coverage in 2-3 swipes.

Cons of Tom Ford #65 Eric Lip Color:

• Not for those who absolutely dislike shimmers in their lipstick.
• Feels the slightest bit gritty as your rub your lips together due to the presence of shimmers.
• Average amount of staying power, not super impressive.
• Shimmer particular are left clinging to lips even as the lipstick fades, but it can be easily wiped off.
