Toni&Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask

BY Miloni Shah

Hello all you beautiful ladies out there. After almost a year of avid following of this amazing blog- IMBB, I decided to contribute my bit and give my silent spectator self a backseat and thus, presenting you with my very first attempt at a product review here. Hope I can help make better purchasing decisions for some of you out there just as I followed the reviews of products here religiously before spending my buck.

Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask

Today, I am going to share with you my take on Toni&Guy NOURISH Reconstruction Mask.

It’s been a year since I underwent hair smoothening and since then it has been shiny and smooth and awesome looking. But as any girl who tried permanent hair solutions would know, that the glory is short lived. My hair had outgrown all the shiny and straightness and now they are back to their normal highly wavy, frizzy and super voluminous self. And with the winters approaching, I was in look out for a product that would nourish and do well to my combination of normal to oily (to very rarely dry) scalp and dry, split ended tips. From hundreds of different types of treatments to choose from like serums, sprays, conditioners, I ended up choosing a hair mask. Having heard greatly about Toni&Guy products in the hair care segment, I thought of giving it a go.

My experience with Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask

This deep conditioning mask is delivered in a rectangular box in which lies the actual product. It comes in the form of a medium sized tub which is minted out of ivory colored plastic. Though the tub is pretty sturdy, there’s no fun element to it. To state it more positively, it comes across as a get-right-to-work product that could make one feel that it can provide the precise solace to one’s damaged hair needs. The cap closes securely and sits tightly avoiding messy spills.

The consistency of the product is thick. It is a nice creamy white colored mask but not the very thick kinds. The application on hair is fairly an easy task, especially if you have finer hair unlike mine. I applied this product after cleaning my hair with a mild but effective shampoo. I began applying the product by taking some in my palms and gently rubbing it downwards from the top 3/4th length of my hair giving special attention to the dry, brittle ends. It coats the hair greatly. I had to use a generous amount of it summing up to about 4 big dollops due to the volume of my hair. After letting it sit there for about 4-5 minutes I washed it out with cold running water. I cold blasted my hair and let it dry completely.

The result was amazing as it gave my tresses a very, very soft touch and did add a lot of shine to it. My hair felt great and it did not turn true on my fear of making them limp and oily. But it did weigh down my hair a very teeny tiny bit but I strongly believe that was because of the fact that I went overboard with using it since I was desperate to repair my damaged locks. The frizz was gone. It gave my hair a very nice shine and at the same time my hair felt really moisturized. Even after 3 days of not washing, they seemed well moisturized and supple and behaved nicely and still did not go limp.
The scent of the product is very mild and you have to literally dig your nose in the tub to take a good sniff. The aroma is not that enticing or anything unique, but it is not unappealing. It does not linger on your hair, which if you don’t like scents may be a positive for you.

Pros of Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask:

• Leaves your hair super soft to touch
• Adds a nice shine
• Moisturizes well
• The packaging is sturdy
• Great consistency, easy to spread
• Mild scent for those who like it
• Greatly lessens frizziness

Cons of Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask

• Little pricey
• No particular scent that stays

Would I recommend Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction Mask?

I would strongly recommend it to those who need nourishment for low to moderately damaged hair or those who just want to give their locks an extra boost. As for those of you with SUPER damaged hair, I feel you should leave this product out and look for something even stronger or use this with a combination of other hair treatments.
