Hi everyone,

I am loving all the Valentine’s Day DIY mask and skin care by the lovely ladies on IMBB. I thought of sharing with you all something for the hair so that you could let your hair down on a date and look your gorgeous best. It’s a heat protection mist from Toni&Guy that shields against damage by heat styling tools. I have had a couple of these products from different brands in the past but my experience with them was pathetic, let’s see how this one scored.

About the Brand:

Toni Mascolo and brother Guy co-founded the first TONI&GUY salon in 1963 in Clapham, London, joined later by their two brothers Bruno and Anthony. By the late 1990s, the company had grown from a single salon to over 100 in 20 countries worldwide. Driven by their philosophy of pushing the boundaries of hairdressing and delivering creativity, quality and consistency to every client, Toni and Guy Mascolo were amongst the first to begin the franchising boom, with the first franchised salon opening in Brighton in 1988.

Product Description:

Helps protect against damage and breakage caused from heat styling and conditions hair for a softer, smoother finish. Before heat styling, spray evenly over towel-dried hair and comb through. Top up in-between blow-drying and using straightening irons by spritzing over dry hair.

My Experience with Toni&Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist:

I had some not-so-good experience with heat styling products and with hair glossing serum. I use straightener once in a while but due to the after effects of hot tools I am pretty scared to know about the damage it can do for the hairs in the long run. I have used L’oreal studio line hot straight cream which was disgusting, it made my hair into a sticky mess and looked like I have glued and stitched my hair together eeek! *shock*

Then I came across Andrew Barton products but they too weighed down my hair, so I stopped using them completely. Very recently I saw this Toni&Guy mist on one of the online shopping sites but this time I didn’t order right away and did my research on it. It seemed like a decent product from some opinions and then placed my order. The bottle is pretty sleek and has a matte finish with glossy print on it and very sturdy, the best thing about the bottle is the smart lock mechanism which is very unique and I haven’t really seen something like this earlier. The spray nozzle give out fine mist and I like this kind of spray more than pump spray as it needs little effort and could be used easily on your own for full head application. The lock as I said is unique, it took me sometime to figure out how it works after I opened the bottle for the first time and I started to assume that it might be faulty *hihi* it needs to be pushed to the other side to unlock the pump dispenser. I have been using it before blow drying as well as using straighteners and sometimes just for giving my hair a nice shine. The liquid is completely transparent unlike most hair styling products and has a very mild fresh smell which I really like. I have used it for continuous 3 days and it does not weigh the hairs down but by the 4th day you need to shampoo or it starts to look limp. I have used this on dry and wet hairs both and it works amazingly and makes my hairs soft to touch and feel. I do not know how much protection it gives to the hairs from heat but it’s a good product overall and I am glad that I got this.

None that I can think of. I am extremely happy with this product.

Yes, indeed and I am going to get a backup as well. Girls who use hot tools could get this for their crowning glory, you’ll love it.
