Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream Review

Hi everyone,

Scrubs/exfoliators/peeling creams are my favorite skincare products because they help in getting all the gunk and grime off of my oily skin. A dear friend gifted me this Tony Moly Appletox Massage Peeling Cream and incidentally, this is also my first product from this brand. The biggest catch for me, with regards to this product, is its “Made in Korea” tag (I absolutely love Korean stuff). Did it leave me impressed? Let’s find out 🙂

Product Description:
Smooth massage peeling cream with natural fruit extracts (Green Apple, Papaya, Vitamin A, B1, C) that exfoliates dead skin cells and keratin while leaving the skin soft, moisturized, and detoxified.

Directions To Use:
After washing and towel dry the face, apply a sufficient amount of cream, avoiding the eyes and lips, massage for 1-2 minutes and wait for 30 seconds. After that, massage again to let the keratin fall out, and wash off with lukewarm water.

My Experience with Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream:

I am high on Korean skincare products because they have upped the skincare game for everyone – most of Korean skincare that I have tried has worked for me, and that’s why I am pumped up to try more.

Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream apple shape

The USP of this massage peeling cream is its packaging – the cream comes in a cute green apple shaped tub that you wouldn’t have the heart to throw away once the cream gets over. The product inside has a creamy consistency with a mild fragrance of green apples. I personally prefer fragrance in skincare products because it adds to the whole “feel good” factor, but some people do not appreciate this feature, so it’s totally a personal preference.

Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream packaging

There are no granules or particles in there – it’s a smooth cream that is easy to apply, spreads easily on the skin, and most importantly, does not sting or irritate the skin.

The way you have to use this product – first apply a generous amount on your face and neck (pea-sized amount wouldn’t do). Massage the cream thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes (since the texture is smooth, there is no resistance at all when you do so). After that, let the cream sit on your skin for 1 minute and massage again.  This time, you can feel the cream bundling up on your skin. It can be called “pilling” or balling up of the product as well, but then chunks of product come off from your skin giving you an impression of dead skin cells sloughing away. There’s an oily layer left behind, but you can clear that with multiple splashes of water, without using any soap or face wash. What you can feel after this whole process is squeaky clean skin without any harsh exfoliation involved.

You have to specifically remember not to keep the massage cream for more than 1 or 2 minutes because that can cause the skin to dry out badly.

For me, this massage peeling cream works as good as a physical exfoliator, if not better.  I love Lotus Herbals Apriscrub to get dead skin cells off my skin, but this works extremely well too.

After using this cream, my skin feels extremely light, free from grime, but also a little dry, so I have to follow up with a moisturizer.  Those with dry skin will need a heavy moisturizer.

Using it as a face pack by keeping it longer is not a good idea as it may cause excessive dryness, just be sure to follow the instructions.

I am highly impressed with the ingredients list provided on the packaging – there’s a whole lot of good ingredients (beeswax, apple fruit extract, papaya fruit extract, lactic acid, glycolic acid, pyruvic acid, etc), but then there’s dimethicone, methylparaben too.

This peeling cream is extremely good for sensitive skin, it doesn’t irritate or sting on my skin, which is extremely sensitive. It doesn’t cause any acne either.

There’s no effect on whiteheads though, but after using this massage cream, I felt my face as light and fresh as after a good cleanup session.

Overall, this massage cream makes my skin bright, smooth, and soft to touch.  I would like to use it often but I restrict using it once or twice a week because too much exfoliation may cause acne on my skin 😛

Pros of Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream:

  • An effective peeling cream that gets rid of dead skin cells and sebum.
  • Makes skin soft.
  • Makes skin bright.
  • Effects similar to a good cleanup.

Cons of Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream:

  • A little gimmick is involved when you see the product balling up with “dead skin cells.”
  • Not free from parabens.
