My Experience with Tony Moly Inked Cushion Gel Liner 01 Black:
Tony Moly Inked Cushion Gel liner comes in a stunning ink bottle packaging with a quill attached. I got this gel liner solely based on its packaging. I mean come on, how beautiful is this eyeliner going to look displayed on my vanity? The ink bottle and the quill liner is made up of sturdy yet lightweight black plastic. The quill is attached on top of the ink jar. The ink pot is the cap for both the brush and the cushion liner. The actual cushion liner is present in the bottom section of the ink jar, which twists off easily. Even though the packaging is adorable, it is too bulky to carry around during travelling.
The quill brush applicator is slim and the brush is quite dense. The quill brush is lightweight. It fits easily between the fingers and gives a good grip. The brush tip has a pointed end. The brush does look bulky; however, it works well with the cushion gel liner. The brush is very soft and allows me to draw a fairly thin to a thick line.
The Inked Cushion Gel Liners is housed in the cushion. The eyeliner has a liquid consistency, even though they call it a gel liner. It’s very lightweight and almost feels like there is no eyeliner on the eye due to its liquid consistency.
The eyeliner comes in three distinct shades – black, brown and plum wine. The black gel eyeliner is a standard black shade. It has a glossy satin finish. This shade goes on unevenly and it is very sheer when you apply it. The black shade is buildable by adding on layers; however, it takes a lot of effort to apply it. Since this black shade is very sheer, I have to keep on dipping my brush into the cushion jar to get more product. Also, while building the layer, do not wait for the layers to dry since it will start flaking off the layers underneath if you apply it over a layer that’s already set.
The eyeliner dries down and sets quickly on the lids. This liner is not waterproof. It washes off easily with a makeup remover. The eyeliner stays on my eyes for around 4 hours. It starts to fade away once it hits the 4-hour mark. Overall, I am not that happy with this eyeliner. This eyeliner takes a lot of effort and I feel it is not feasible for an everyday use. However, I love the packaging.
