Tony Moly Mini Fruit Lip Balm Cherry Tomato Review

In the recent past, I have reviewed two lip balms from two very popular Korean skin care brands – The Face Shop and Skinfood. The reason why I hoard lip balms is because I have extremely dry lips and no amount of lip balm application can take care of the dryness, but that does not stop me from trying out new lip balms. I bought a bunch of different lip balms as part of my Korean skin care and makeup haul. This post is the review of mini fruit lip balm by Tony Moly in “Cherry Tomato.”

My Experience with Tony Moly Mini Fruit Lip Balm Cherry Tomato:

Tony Moly has the cutest-ever packaging for their products. This range of lip balms is called “mini fruit” lip balm and the packaging is shaped just like a mini fruit (and some trivia, “Cherry Tomato” is actually a fruit and not a veggie 😊). Hence, I bought this product because of its extremely cute packaging. It looks like a tiny, cherry tomato which is cut in half and the top half is a twist up cap and the bottom half has a tub to hold the product. When I bought this product, I thought it would be in the dome shape like EOS lip balms and all I have to do it is slather it on my lips without digging my fingers in the product. This is however not the case with this produc because I do have to pick up the product with my fingers which seems unhygienic to me, but apart from that, I have no qualms about the packaging.

The product does not have an overwhelming fragrance of cherry tomatoes and is very pleasant to sense, and lasts till the lip balm lasts on the lips. The texture of the balm is that of a shiny  balm. It adds a faint tint and shine to the lips, but it’s not comparable to what a lip gloss would provide. It looks fairly natural on lips and I am sure it will look even better on non-pigmented lips.

I really like this lip balm – it is moisturizing, adds sheen to lips, has a cute packaging and smells amazing. My only qualm is that I wish it had a longer lasting power and added a bit more hydration for my dry lips.

Pros of Tony Moly Mini Fruit Lip Balm Cherry Tomato:

  • It is an affordable lip balm and comes in an extremely cute packaging.
  • This range (in equally cute packaging) also has 5 different flavours.
  • It has a very subtle fragrance which vanishes soon after.
  • Sweet taste and doesn’t feel uncomfortable if a little bit is swallowed.
  • Provides a moisture barrier and hydration to lips.
  • Has real fruit extracts and flavors and has the goodness of shea butter and witch hazel.

Cons of Tony Moly Mini Fruit Lip Balm Cherry Tomato:

  • I wish the packaging had the product in a dome shape like EOS lip balm to keep the process more sanitary.
  • The moisture level should have been a bit more, especially for someone like me who has extremely dry lips.

I totally recommend this lip balm to all those who regularly wear lip balms and it will serve the purpose of a good lip balm well. People with extremely dry lips like mine might need an extra boost of moisture by supplementing it with a Vaseline or a lip oil. The cute packaging will appeal everyone and can be a source of envy.
