My Experience with Tony Moly Skin Purifying I’M Real Makgeolli Skin Purifying Mask Sheet:
Tony Moly is a famous Korean brand well known for its innovative packaging and affordable prices. I love their sheet masks. They are jam-packed with essence. They are also super easy to use.
Makgeolli is a slightly sweet alcoholic beverage native to Korea. It is made from rice or wheat mixed with nuruk, a Korean fermentation starter. It has a milky, off-white colour and has about 6–8% alcohol by volume. Makgeolli contains many probiotics which makes it excellent for healthy skin and digestion. Tonymoly I’M real Makgeolli Purifying sheet mask comes in a white plastic packet. The outer packaging has a pouring Makgeolli sake graphic design in the front. The back of this packet describes the product related information in both English and Korean.
Each packet contains one sheet mask. The mask has a sleek and travel-friendly packaging. I can easily place this in my bag. Overall, I love the packaging. This sheet mask is made up of thick cotton. The cloth material is really soft and doesn’t irritate my skin. It has a slightly thicker texture than other masks that I have tried (from other brands).
The mask covers my entire face, in fact it slightly covers my upper neck section. It has cut outs for eyes, nose and lips. It fits snugly on the face and does not slip off. The mask is deeply infused with essence. When you first remove the sheet from the plastic, you can see the amount of essence infused in the mask.
The Makgeolli mask claims to purify the skin and make uneven skin tone radiant and glowing. The mask has sweet yet slight alcoholic scent to it. The fragrance was mild and didn’t bother me. The essence was watery in consistency and looked milky. I removed the sheet mask from its covering and adjusted it on my face and removed the air bubble so that the mask fit snugly to my face.
The mask gives a cooling tingling sensation upon application. The instruction says that you can keep the mask on for around 20 minutes, but I kept it on for 30 minutes to an hour, till the mask had completely dried and was soaked up by skin. After removing the mask, I massaged the leftover essence into the skin till it’s completely absorbed. Don’t wash your face. The mask was perfect for oily skin. It doesn’t break out my skin. The sheet mask reduced the redness on my chin and made my skin tone more even. It hydrated my skin and made it look supple and nourished. It gave a nice healthy glow to my skin which lasted for couple of days. Overall, I really love this mask and it stands true to its claim.
