Tony Moly Tint Delight #2 Red Review

Hey guys!

This is the second tint I picked up from the Tony Moly store. I have been wanting to use more stains of darker colours because that will make them fairly low maintenance. Read further to find out more.

Packaging: This tint comes in a clear plastic container with a heart-shaped cap. The applicator is a flattened doe foot. The doe foot is troublesome in some cases because it tends to leave a line right at the tip, which I have to go back and smooth over.

My Thoughts on Tony Moly Tint Delight #2 Red:

This shade, like the other one is a water-based product, so the consistency is sort of a creamy water consistency. Even though this is the case, I find myself spending a few minutes trying to get the colour spread all over evenly. This is because it spreads on a little too well and so, goes on kind of patchy. I recommend a lip liner underneath to make this process easier on yourself. I feel a tingling sensation with this product which I didn’t face with the other berry shade in the line (shade #1).

Shade:   The shade is a deep red. You can apply more layers to intensify it or you can sheer it out with your finger and have it be a subtle wash of colour. There are total of 3 shades in the range (of which I now have 2).

This tingling increases with the more layers I put on. The taste and scent of this is quite fruity, but not overwhelming by any means. I feel I need a minimum of two layers to get good opacity when using it on its own.

Staying Power:  I also have the same staining issue with this shade as I did with #1, which is that it stains the inner ring of my mouth the most. The rest of the lips are stained to a much lesser degree (I have very pigmented lips) that it does not look like there is anything on there. This also breaks down a bit when it comes in contact with water and you will lose intensity.  So, I highly recommend a lip liner to prevent losing the intensity of colour.

Layering: Because this is mainly a water-based product, you can layer how much ever you want and it won’t cake or crease.

Finish:  The finish of this product is satin-matte even after it dries. It stays relatively comfortable for me throughout the day and I don’t feel the need to apply lip balm. It does transfer a little even setting (which can take a minute or two).

Overall, I have had roughly the same experience across both the shades.

Pros of Tony Moly Tint Delight #2 Red:

  • Product consistency is easy to work with.
  • Nice satin-matte finish.
  • Stays on relatively well after it dries.
  • Layers on itself well, two layers give very opaque, beautiful color.

Cons of Tony Moly Tint Delight #2 Red:

  • Dissolves/breaks down when exposed to water.
  • Can have a patchy finish.
  • Can stain unevenly.
  • Definitely need to use a lip liner.
  • Tingling sensation during application.

IMBB Rating:
3/5

  1. These cons look irrelevant in front of your lip swatches. I have not tried many lip tints for they feel kinda drying and impart an uneven finish on my lips. 🙁

    1. The pigment in the product has to get distributed evenly and that takes a little bit of effort Shikha. This one is quite comfortable on the lips though.
