Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Full Frontal

Hey Guys!

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Too Faced’s Full Frontal eyeshadow duo. I’m often confused about what combinations of eyeshadow to wear and eyeshadow duos really take the guesswork out of my makeup routine. To see how this duo performs, read on!

Product Description

These duos are described as “pigment-drenched, long-wearing combinations [that] offer endless shadow styling options for on-the-go glam.” They are “perfectly paired for maximum versatility, each duo has an all-over highlighter for brightening and a complimentary rich, deep shade for contouring and lining.”

The shade I’ll be reviewing is “Full Frontal”

My Experience with Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Full Frontal

As I said earlier, I love eyeshadow duos. For those among us, who aren’t the best at eye makeup (I’m one of them!), they make life a lot easier. This particular duo comes with two different eyeshadow shades: the darker one is described as a “bronzed chocolate” and the lighter one as “spiced orange.” Both colors have warm undertones and a shimmery finish. On me the darker shade looks like a rich, bronzed-brown, while the lighter is a golden-orange. The lighter shade works best on the eyelid or an overall wash. The darker one is great for the crease and/or as eyeliner. Although, I am not a fan of orange on my lids, I quite like this one because of the gold tones in it. It a very wearable orange eyeshadow that looks lovely on desi skin tones.

The best thing about these eyeshadows is how unbelievably pigmented they are. It’s very rare that a shade shows up richer on your skin than it looks in the pan; that’s what you get with these. I swatched the shadows without any primer on my arm and they’re still so pigmented (and it wasn’t even a heavy swatch!). Needless to say, that a little bit of these shadows goes a really long way. In addition to being pigmented they’re also super smooth and easy to blend. They’re equally blendable with the finger as they are with brushes. The eyeshadows also have minimal fall out while application because of how buttery smooth they are. My favorite way to apply them is using a synthetic flat brush, which ensures that the color stays put on my eyelids, especially when I don’t have primer on.

When it comes to lasting power, one of these shades outperforms the other. With primer, I mostly use either TFSI or UDPP, the brown lasts on my lids all day long. I love to wear it as a liner, when I want to break out of the rut of black eyeliner, and this stays put all day. This is a great supplement for black liner, especially in the daytime when you don’t want your eyes to look too made up. The orange gives me about 4 hours of wear before it starts to fade. Frankly, I’m used to my eyeshadows lasting way longer than that with primer. So the lasting power of the orange shade is definitely a bummer.

I have two favorite ways to wear this: the first is wearing the orange as an all-over wash and lining my eyes with the darker shade; the second is wearing the orange on my top lid and the brown in my crease with black eyeliner. When I’m in a hurry and want great evening makeup, I like to wear the brown on my lids and black eyeliner and mascara with it. It’s a super-quick, simple and striking look that’s great for night time. The colors are complimentary and go really well together. The brown is definitely my favorite out of the two, but I think the two shades make a pretty pair.

I love the versatility and portability of this duo. It’s perfect for wearing to Indian weddings and I’m looking forward to wearing it with desi clothes soon. Even though I reach for the brown shade more often than the orange, it’s not a problem to carry this around because it’s small enough to fit anywhere. They’re both paraben, phthalate and sulphate free and have no discernible fragrance. Since they’re so pigmented, I doubt I’ll run out of this duo any time soon. For this reason, while I will repurchase from this line, I’ll try out another duo. These are definitely winners in my eyes and I can’t wait to get my hands on more!
