Skin tone: Fair-light, yellow-neutral undertones
Hope all of you are doing fine! I am excited to share my new found love for raspberry pink colors. Spring is around the corner and I am in love with everything bright & colorful, especially yellow, green and pinks. I love yellow outfits with raspberry pink on my lips these days; no wonder, I am sharing one of the best raspberry pink shades with you all. So, Too Faced launched these babies a while back and considering I haven’t tried any lip products from Too Faced, I decided to try this new range. My initial experience with few lighter shades was not very impressive, but I like the deeper shades in this collection. Now, let’s read more about Too Faced La Matte Hey Gurrl Color Drenched Matte Lipstick.

My Experience with Too Faced Hey Gurrl La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipstick:
The lipstick comes in a classy metallic black bullet packaging with a tight cap. I could not detect any prominent fragrance in the lipstick, so far so good. Over all, I find it pretty sleek, user-friendly and travel-friendly.
My shade “Hey Gurrl” is defined as deep rose shade which is one of the brightest raspberry pinks I have tried so far. I love how it comes up as a bold yet soft pink on my skin tone without screaming for unwanted attention, even when worn at daytime. I love the soft translucent gel finish it delivers on my lips with medium to nearly complete coverage in just two swipes. I see that Hey Gurrl maintains a translucency in its finish which makes it soft wearable and lightweight on my lips.
It also means that it is suitable for beauties with pigmented lips as well as for beauties with fair, light and dusky skin tones. No wonder it is going to be one of my most exploited lipsticks for spring and summers. Talking about the texture, I am pretty happy with its soft & creamy texture which glides easily on my lips. It does not tug or sit on top of my dry patches unlike “Sorry Not Sorry”. Like every decent matte lipstick, it does tend to feel dry on the lips over a period of time, but I am fine with it.
I mean, the formula is certainly forgiving for normal dry lips as it does not sit on mild dry patches and into the lip lines initially. However, after a couple of hours, I do feel the need of applying a gloss or a balm on lips. I cannot say that it turned my lips dry over time or emphasized my lip lines but it may sit into the lip lines once the semi-soft and cream finish dries into a matte color.
However, even though the lipsticks delivers a soft creamy texture on the lips, it still sits comfortably on my lips with no flaky or patchy finish, much to my liking. I just feel a bit disappointed by its 4-5 hours of wear time. It wears off completely with a heavy brunch leaving a soft sheen behind.
So, to sum it up for you all, I feel this shade is worth trying with that semi-matte and translucent finish. The finish is perfect for springs and summers if you ask me. Not to forget, it does forgive mild dryness and pigmentation up to a good extent with its nearly opaque coverage. I would definitely like to get it again exclusively for the raspberry color it imparts on lips. Ultimate love! <3
