Amigo sweeties! One more objective achieved, one more item cut from my wish list when I ordered Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick recently 🙂 . It was difficult to pick one single shade from the entire range of 26 beautiful lip colors, but I can’t move on from my confidence in wearing “pinks” any day, which restricts me to the family of pinks. So, here is the review of Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick in Fuchsia Shock.
Description: (from website)

My Take on Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick Fuchsia Shock:
I wanted to pick two shades, Fuchsia shock and Cinnamon Kis,s but the later one sold out before I placed the order.
Packaging: Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick comes in a metallic, cylindrical, gun-metal casing. Everything from bullet chamber to outer casing is made of metal in dull golden color. Simple twist up mechanism to reveal the lipstick bullet, cap closes tight and shade name is written at the bottom. I am so heartbroken to tell that the lovely baby pink card-box of the lipstick, with cute floral prints got damaged during transit. It was totally ruined, thanks to the spilled shampoo and conditioner and the seller didn’t even apologize 😛 .
Texture and finish: The texture of Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick is so similar to MAC prolong lip crème. I absolutely feel like they are a copy of each other; except that La Crème is a bit creamier. Have to check which one was launched first 😀 .
Anyway, La Crème has thick texture, moderately creamy and feels smooth on lips. It is a long lasting lipstick, so doesn’t feel too moisturizing or hydrating on lips. But, it definitely conditions lip dryness for the hours it stays on my lips. It has semi-matte finish when applied directly from bullet. If you use a lip brush, the coverage will be lesser than direct application and end result is matte finish. The lipstick is infused with white lotus flower extracts and power peptides.
Colour and pigmentation: The shade is called Fuchsia Shock. It is a fuchsia pink, but not too loud or vibrant. It’s a fuchsia pink with a subtle hint of berry, as I find it. The pigmentation is perfect and rich. One swipe builds full color, full coverage on lips, providing a hide out for lip pigmentation. I usually apply it with a lip brush because I want some washed out shade on my lips for office wear. But when applied directly from lipstick bullet, it turns out to be intense on terms of pigmentation. The shade will suit every complexion; fair, light, medium and deep.
Longevity and transferability: A definitely long lasting lipstick, but starts feeling dry on lips after 4-5 hours. This can be taken care of with the help of a lip balm application. Leaves faint marks on cutlery when applied fresh, but that’s not too obvious and can be ignored. Overall, the total wear time is 6-8 hours on average. It doesn’t leave any stain on lips.
Pros of Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick Fuchsia Shock:
- Fuchsia pink shade, suitable for every complexion.
- Creamy soft texture that conditions lips.
- Feels same on lips like MAC Prolong Lipcreme.
- Richly pigmented.
- Long lasting lipstick.
- Doesn’t transfer horribly to cutlery.
- Infused with white lotus flower extracts.
- Parabens free product.
- Attractive and travel friendly packaging.
Cons of Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick Fuchsia Shock:
- Feels somewhat drying on lips after 4-5 hours. Need a lip balm coating.
- Same texture as MAC Prolong Lip Crème, which is priced $18.
I don’t have a right to deduct just for it feels drying on lips after 4-5 hours! It’s a long lasting lipstick and minimal transferability; it deserves a good rating in my opinion.
Would I repurchase/recommend Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick Fuchsia Shock?
I wonder if I will ever be able to finish this. With more than 6 fuchsia pinks in my stash, I need to seriously hold back from this shade. For recommendation, I will definitely give a go ahead. But again, exactly same formula as MAC Pro Long Lip Creme and who can deny that MAC is MAC, with the fact that it cost $18 while Too Faced La Crème costs $22. The choice is entirely yours. Have a great day.
