Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer

Hello Everyone,

2 reviews in a day, Neha?? Yes it must be surprising for you folks seeing how I keep disappearing from IMBB a whole lot lately. But as I promised that I do have great reviews coming up and I will deliver. Anywho getting back to the review. I will review for you- Too Faced Shadow insurance primer.

Product Info:

This is your full-coverage insurance policy against all fading, creasing, melting, blurring, oil slicked, and hard-to-blend eye shadow accidents. Our silicone based eye shadow primer transforms any eyeshadow into a perfectly blendable, color-drenched, intensified version of itself, then locks it down perfectly until you take it off. This soothing formula evens out the skintone on your lids and smoothes lines while securing a barrier between the oils of your skin and your makeup, so no shadow catastrophes will ever happen again.

My Experience with Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer:

An eye shadow primer is a must-have in very makeup collection. It just helps your eyemakeup look go that extra mile every time.

Packaging:

Pretty simple squeeze tube packaging with a nozzle end. I do find that you do need to knead the tube first before opening the cap to get the product out to mix it otherwise the product inside does tend to separate.

Texture/Consistency:

This primer has a fairly thin consistency. It does help it spread very easily and only a droplet size is needed to cover the entire lid. It does have a cream to powder like finish and upon application it does not feel as tacky as most of my other primers do. This primer even though it does have a cream-like color it disappears on my eyelid so if you have pigmented lids or have veins showing on there, this is not a great color correcting, disguising primer.

Performance:

As you can see in the following pic, it does have very good priming abilities. Even though it doesn’t feel too tacky which could be a good thing for those with oily lids, it does have the capability make eye colors put over it, to adhere and show up true to color. My shadows don’t seem to crease and they do last all day.

But having said that I do find the price for this product to be on the higher side. I feel it is very comparable to the drugstore alternatives and performs similarly. So I find it it difficult to justify spending money on this.

Pros of Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer:

• Thin consistency, spreads easily.
• Little amount is needed per eye.
• Cream to powder finish.
• Helps eye shadows show up with color.
• Does not crease or smudge.
• Helps improve staying power of eye shadows.

Cons of Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer:

• Expensive!

Final Thought on Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer:

If you are a makeup girl who loves to do fancy eye looks and needs to invest in a good primer, I would say go for it. But if you are someone who does simple looks and just need a good day to day primer to give your eye shadows that extra push, you can go for the drugstore alternative and you wont be missing out on a “must have” product.

  1. Yep Neha, this eyeshadow primer is the bomb diggity.
Although there are cheaper versions out there, this really does the job and if you think about it, you actually get a pretty large quantity of the product in comparison. Should last you ages!
