My Experience with Touch In Sol Margaret Metallist Liquid Foil and Glitter Eye Shadow Duo:

Packaging:  I love concept of 2-in-1 eye product this product offers. One side is labelled as “liquid” while the other side is “glitter.” At a glance this seems an excellent choice for party- wedding wear/ special occasions which was my intention behind purchasing this product in the first place. I believe this would be great for brides as well.

Texture, Consistency/Performance:  The “liquid” side is basically a creme shadow. It has a smooth, non-gritty consistency which applied and blended easily giving just enough time before it sets to an almost dry feel. It delivers about 80-90% opacity in one layer which is very impressive. You can easily use this by itself or top it with the provided glitter side to take it up a notch and add the oomph factor.

The “glitter” is more like a loose pigment rather than chunky glitter. It is quite finely milled and is not too gritty. This glitter has some some of a tacky medium to it so that when you apply it to the skin, it doesn’t cause as much fall out and the glitter mesh together and deliver about 50% opacity. Top this over the creme shadow to achieve 100% opacity.

Applicator and Application:  The liquid side has a flat applicator and you can use both sides to apply product. The glitter side has a small flexible plastic scooper. The glitter side is a bit messy to use and will dirty ur vanity table so best lay down some paper towel beforehand. I use a flat synthetic concealer brush to pack and layer these together. The glitter adheres beautifully onto the creme (even after the creme is partially dry) and they fuse together to create a seamless finish. Hence you need not worry about using a glitter glue.

Shade:  Shade #1 Margaret is a stunning rose gold shade. Both the creme and glitter side are very similar shade wise, so it’s easy to layer them together for a seamless look. The layered result is a 3d looking textured lid (in a good way). I would not really recommend these to those with already textured or wrinkled lids. These works best on a smooth canvas.

Staying Power:  I was very impressed by the staying power. I noticed absolutely no creasing for over 8 hours when I wore these. Things to note are that I have normal eyelids and always use an eye primer. There was absolutely no creasing. There is a slight amount of transfer onto your fingers if you touch your eyelids but I have not noticed glitter traveling over my face.

Overall, this is a fantastic product. I have always been intimidated by using loose pigments but this product makes its incredibly easy to use with minimal mess hence perfect for those with beginner or intermediate skill level in makeup. I highly recommend this.

In the EOTD, I have used Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear in the crease and Touch in Sol Margaret layered together on the lids.
