Tree Hut Shea Sugar Coconut Lime Body Scrub Review

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Coconut Lime Body Scrub

Hey Guys,

I am back with another review from Tree Hut. Oh, Tree Hut! I cannot figure out why they’d choose a name like that. Maybe it’s supposed to evoke feelings of being out in nature (it doesn’t for me) or maybe the brand was founded in a Tree Hut (wonder what that looks like!). Anyway, the name aside, I was super pleased with the last scrub of theirs I tried. To see how this one performs, read on!

My Experience with Tree Hut Coconut Lime Scrub

As I’ve mentioned in earlier reviews, I like to make my own scrubs at home, especially sugar and salt scrubs. It gets really hard for me to justify the high costs of some high-end salt/sugar scrubs. Once you read the ingredients list, it’s pretty much obvious that you can create your own batch in less than five minutes. There are way too many brands that get their scrubs all wrong, so I’m always wary of spending money on them. Very rarely does a brand come along that has mastered the oil to exfoliant ratio and has a luxurious smell. Tree Hut is one of those brands. And their Coconut Lime scrub, too, gets a stamp of approval from this scrubaholic.

With many scrubs you have to make a choice between a getting great exfoliation or getting soft, hydrated skin. This is because many scrubs end up drying the skin. This scrub is great because it actually moisturizes the skin with a blend of oils. I different sized exfoliants — sugar and ground up coconut shells — do a great job of polishing the skin. This doesn’t leave the skin feeling dry or tight, and you’re left with smooth, soft skin. I follow this up with some oil to keep dryness away all day. An added benefit of this scrub is that it smoothes any bumps on the skin and, even, stretch marks out. Over time, I’ve noticed that this has really smoothed some newer stretch marks. Little bumps on my upper arm and thigh skin have also decreased. This makes a great foot scrub. It’s intense enough to really exfoliate the harder, rougher skin and leaves them feeling soft and, can you believe, radiant!

This works best when used on damp skin. Using it on wet skin doesn’t provide as strong of an exfoliation. However, I do use this on wet skin on days I just want to feel more awake and energized. This does not foam, so using my body wash to get clean prior to exfoliating is a must.

In comparison to the Brazilian Nut scrub I’ve tried earlier, this has a more fresh and clean smell. I’m not a coconut flavor/fragrance fan, but love the smell of this. While the former is best described as “delicious,” this is more of an “energizing” smell. My favorite time to use this is early in the morning as it really wakes me up and leaves me feeling fresh. The smell is really strong, but not overpowering, and the whole bathroom smells like a spa once I’m done with my shower (for the next few hours, actually!). I think with this scrub you get the benefit of a great exfoliation and an aromatherapy session that leaves you feeling re-energized.

Cons of Tree Hut Shea Sugar Coconut Lime Body Scrub

– I don’t like the packaging, with the big tub and twist off caps (not big enough of a “con” to take points off!).
