Today, I will be reviewing TRESemme Gentle Cleansing Shampoo.

My Experience with Tresemme Gentle Cleansing Shampoo:

We use numerous products on our hair on a daily basis. When some of these products start accumulating in hair hair in layer upon layer, it’s called “build-up,” which can lead to our hair losing it’s healthiness. To get rid of this build up, it is recommended to use a clarifying shampoo once a week like this one from Tresemme that I will review for you all today.

Packaging:

Tresemme products are not that expensive, hence it is very economical to even get a huge bottle like this which can be used by the whole family.  The product comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a push down cap which reveals a hole through which you can dispense controlled amount of product.  The packaging overall is decent and nothing fancy, yet it is very practical.

Texture/Consistency:

The product has a gel-like consistency which is neither too thick nor too thin. It is not too runny, has a slight greenish tinge which is not showing up in the picture. It lathers up pretty well and cleanses the hair in one wash off all the oil, grime and dirt along with getting rid of all the product build up.  A coin-sized amount is all that I need to wash my below shoulder length hair.

Results:

Hair gets squeaky clean which can be felt immediately after rinsing, but this is where my problem with this product lies. Along with getting rid of all the build up from my hair, it also strips all moisture, which is quite common when using clarifying shampoos. When I have used this product on its own and not followed up with a conditioner, my already dry hair suffered.  My hair gets frizzy and feels rough to touch. There is no smoothness or visible shine.  But once I used this product with a heavyduty moisturizing conditioner and I was pleased. The shampoo did the job of cleansing my hair perfectly and the conditioner took care of the moisture in my hair.

Fragrance:

This product has a pleasant fresh scent which is not overpowering and does not linger for long in the hair.

Overall, I am pleased with the performance of this product as it does do the job of clarifying my hair of all the buildup. It is in no way moisturizing, hence needs to be followed up with a conditioner. I do feel this product can be used by all hair types.

Pros of Tresemme Gentle Cleansing Shampoo:

• Huge bottle at an affordable price.
• Easily available.
• Only a little amount is needed to lather and clean whole hair.
• Cleanses my hair of all oil, dirt and product build up in one wash.

Cons of Tresemme Gentle Cleansing Shampoo:

• Hair feels very dry and brittle after wash.
• Hair loses shine and gets frizzy.
• Must be followed up with a conditioner.

Would I Repurchase Tresemme Gentle Cleansing Shampoo?

No, firstly because this huge bottle will last me forever and also because this shampoo doesn’t do much good for my dry hair, hence I will look for other products in the market which would address that need better.
