Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil Review

Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil Review

By Shridevi Bhat

This is my very first review for IMBB. I generally do not buy any makeup/skin care product before reading its review here. This one is an exception 🙂 I have had very stubborn dandruff and was constantly on the lookout for anti-dandruff products. A friend suggested that I try Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil.  Before going ahead, I instinctively searched for a review on this on IMBB and was surprised to not find it, but I was so desperate to get rid of my dandruff that I went ahead and bought it, and here I am with the review!

Trichup+Anti+Dandruff+Oil+Review

Product Description:

Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil, enriched with the natural goodness of Rosemary and Tea Tree oil is formulated through years of research. Revitalizing hair follicles and locking in moisture, it prevents dandruff completely and consistently. The patented formula of Trichup has been the choice of millions.

Ingredients:

Anti dandruff hair oil

Price:

Rs.80 for 100 ml.

Directions For Use:

Regularly apply and massage scalp to stay dandruff free. For best results, keep overnight.

My Experience with Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil:

It comes in an opaque sturdy green bottle with a flip-top cap, which is leak-proof.  The oil is bright blue in color which gives it a very synthetic look. It also has a very strong artificial fragrance, which stays till I wash my hair. Occasionally, a faint fragrance persists even after I wash my hair! I actually like my hair oil to look and smell herbal or natural, not artificial like this.

Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil 2

In spite of the above-mentioned negatives about this oil, it not only does what it is supposed to do, i.e., fight dandruff, but it is extremely good at it!  As mentioned on their website, I apply it thrice a week, leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning. I have been using this oil for almost one-and-half months now and my dandruff problem has tremendously reduced. In fact, it soothed my slightly itchy scalp from the very first time I used it. Also, what convinced me that it is really working was – in the fourth week or so of using this, I was out on vacation and skipped applying this oil for a week. To add to it, I was not using any other anti-dandruff product like shampoos or anything, just regular shampoo. Still, it did not worsen the dandruff. This is contrary to my experience with all other anti-dandruff products I have used in the past, where dandruff returns the moment you stop using the product. I hope, with another couple of months of use, I would be dandruff-free!

Dandruff hair oil

I would also like to mention, this oil is not at all heavy or greasy. It is very light in texture. It does not weigh my hair down. After I wash and dry my hair, I also use a few drops of this oil to manage strays and fly-aways. Though my hair appears a little oily immediately after applying, the oiliness goes away within a couple of hours and my hair appears healthy and shiny.

In short, I just love this oil for clearing my dandruff. I am willing to ignore the strong fragrance and blue color. Because of this oil, I don’t have to restrict myself to anti-dandruff shampoos and I am free to explore the shampoos which I was forced to give up on earlier.

To summarize:

Pros of Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil:

  • Does what it claims – fights dandruff.
  • Not heavy or greasy – can be used daily if required.
  • Sturdy packaging with a leak proof flip-top cap.
  • Very economical and affordable.

Cons of Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil:

  • Very strong artificial fragrance.
  • Looks synthetic because of its blue color.

IMBB Rating:

4/5 (-1 for the fragrance and artificial color, full marks for effectiveness!)

Do I Recommend Trichup Anti-Dandruff Oil?

Definite yes, if you are looking for something to combat dandruff and are willing to put up with the strong fragrance and artificial color, go for it, you will not be disappointed.

  1. Nice review shridevi *clap* I have tried the other variant of trichup oil which was already reviewed on imbb but sadly it didnt work at all on my hair. Instead it made my scalp itchy, aggravated dandruff (I dont usually have dandruff per say) and above all the strong smell gave me headache *cry* *headbang* *headbang*
Glad this variant worked for you. *pigtail* i would say sensitive noses will hate it.

    1. *thankyou* Shilpa…too bad it did not work for you and had such a bad reaction..I too hate such strong fragrances..but I’m willing to ignore it for the effectiveness 🙂
