My Experience with Ulta Makeup Brush and Sponge Cleaner:
I went to the nearby Ulta salon and store for my regular haircut, As usual, while I come back I see loads of products on display. Well, I came back with this brush cleaner and a hairbrush.
This brush cleaner come in a transparent spray bottle that has a protective cap as well. It has a travel friendly packaging and could be carried to trips without compromising on spillage or accidental sprays.
The brush cleaner looks like water in the bottle but on shaking it, suds are formed. There is no strong smell to it but it does have a soapy/ chemical kind of smell to it. I have used the ELF Brush Shampoo prior to this and have found it no different than any regular shampoo or baby body wash. This one looked and felt different form the Elf one.
I got Ulta Makeup Brush and Sponge Cleaner, hoping that only spraying on the brush or sponge would clean them or at least sanitize them, but it is not the case. This thing is soapy water that needs to be washed off with water.
I used this cleaner on my foundation brush, and eyeshadow brushes as well as blending sponge. I thoroughly moistened all of them with water, prior to using the cleaner, just as directed. I sprayed enough on the brush and sponge then worked up lather. It did lather up too much. When, I washed off the suds my brushes and sponges were hardly clean.
I repeated the same process again but that did not make much difference and I gave up. This did work somehow on my liquid foundation sponge but on my lip brushes this made no difference at all. This is a poor performing product. So, I will be sticking to my baby shampoo cleaning procedure.
Pros of Ulta Makeup Brush and Sponge Cleaner:
- Great concept of spray cleaner.
- Good packaging.
Cons of Ulta Makeup Brush and Sponge Cleaner:
- Chemical smell.
- Loads of chemical ingredients.
Do I Recommend Ulta Makeup Brush and Sponge Cleaner?
No, I would not recommend this product to anyone. The baby shampoo works much better in the cleaning department.
