The shade 714 was a part of Urban Decay’s Gwen Stefani collection. It was such a popular shade that they bought it back in their regular line. I always think what is on Gwen Stefani’s lips. She nails the retro red lips and winged liner look like no other. A few months ago, Urban Decay collaborated with Gwen Stefani to create her perfect shade of red. Or rather, reds. There were several shades of red in the collection, but the one that caught my attention was 714.

My Experience with Urban Decay 714 Mega Matte Vice Lipstick:
The tube of this lipstick has a gunmetal plastic top with the golden base. It looks very chic and unique. I absolutely adore the packaging. The name of the brand is engraved on the cap as well as inside of the tube. The shade name is mentioned on the bottom and the brand logo is engraved on the top of the cap. I like this packaging better than that of Gwen Stefani’s collection.
The shade 714 is described as a bright red with a mega matte finish; this is the only matte lipstick in her collection. It was difficult to apply this because of its finish but it is pigmented and fully opaque once applied on the lips. It has a kind of similar finish as retro matte lipsticks by MAC, which is my favourite formula from them. Both of these ranges stay in place for hours. But these Urban Decay ones have better pigmentation and feel more comfortable on the lips.
These are not as drying as MAC’s retro matte finish. Recently, Urban Decay has reformulated all of their lipsticks and has created a new line of 100 lipsticks. And luckily, 714 has become a part of their permanent line. This lipstick lasts pretty well on my lips. It lasts for 7.5 hours after eating and drinking. 714 feels super lightweight on my lips.
