Hope you are enjoying the winter. I love winters, especially basking in the sun (with my sunscreen on) while enjoying a good book. Though that does not happen all the time 🙂 The second reason I love winters because I need not be extra careful about the staying power of my foundation or eyeshadow. Nowadays, I am in an experimenting mode with my eyeshadows, earlier I hardly applied any eye makeup. One swipe of my black kohl and I was ready to go. I started doing eye makeup only recently after my marriage. Slowly but steadily, I am learning different ways of applying eyeshadows. How marriage changes things, but I am loving the change 😛 All thanks to IMBB to help me start my journey into the world of makeup and beauty.
Today, I am going to review one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes – Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette. It is my second eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. I already have the Naked palette and I love it. This time I wanted to try other brighter shades, so I bought this one. I got this palette from Sephora. This comes with an original travel-sized Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and a small eyeshadow brush.
Price: 2000 INR approximately.
Here are the shades:
There are 10 best-selling shades form UD in this palette. They are:
- Smog (deep coppery bronze).
- Mildew (mossy green shimmer with gold shift).
- Oil Slick (matte black with silver micro-glitter).
- Last Call (metallic sugar plum).
- Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro-glitter).
- Maui Wowie (metallic golden beige with silver glitter).
- Shattered (turquoise shimmer with gold shift).
- Polyester Bride (white snow shimmer with silver micro-glitter).
- Grifter (sheer lavender shimmer with silver micro-glitter).
- Sin (champagne shimmer).
My Experience with Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette:
The packaging of the palette is very thoughtful with an integrated mirror and a space to hold the eyeshadow brush and the primer potion. The whole thing comes inside an extra plastic case which makes it travel friendly. About the shades, I like all of them. They are highly pigmented and visible with a single swipe.
The staying power is outstanding, even in the hot and humid Indian weather even when used without the primer. But I would suggest to use the primer before applying the eyeshadows because they are all shimmery and they tend to fallout a lot. The first time I applied the shadows without the primer, I was disappointed. The primer helps the glittery particles to stay on the eyelids.
The brush is dense and have soft bristles. It does a decent job in applying the shadows, but not ideal for precise application. I wish the brush was larger but I cannot really complain as it comes free.
The shades are bright and shimmery that will give the perfect evening look. Numerous looks can be created by mix and match. The oil slick shade is perfect for a black shimmery smoked look. I like all of them but my personal favorites are Oil slick, Maui Wowie, Mildew and Grifter.

Pros of Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette:
- Combination of 10 gorgeous shades.
- Highly pigmented shades.
- Staying power is very good (a whole day until removed by makeup remover).
- Perfect for creating stunning evening looks.
- Freebies, applicator brush and primer potion.
Cons of Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette:
- A little bit costlier but worth every penny.
- Some shades are repeat from other palettes. Sin from Naked Palette and Chopper from Naked 2 Palette.
- I wanted the brush to do a better job.
Would I Repurchase Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette?
It is going to last long enough, so I may not repurchase again. I want to explore the other shades.
Would I Recommend Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette?
